President Tinubu has stepped aside as ECOWAS chairman https://x.com/instablog9ja/status/1809915972741902796?t=6uM3Y377B1gtD7mxhNo2MQ&s=08 President Bola Tinubu’s tenure as the chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government comes to an end today (Sunday). The 65th Ordinary Session of the Authority is holding at the Presidential Villa in Abuja where he is expected to pass on the torch to another leader. Tinubu was unanimously endorsed as chairman in July 2024 at the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau. Since then, the Nigerian leader has dealt with challenges particularly military coups in member states. The president initially took a strong stance against unconstitutional changes of government in Niger Republic, Burkina Faso, Mali and Guinea, overseeing the imposition of sanctions on them. However, the sanctions were later lifted as the sub-regional body opted for a more peaceful approach to resolve the issues. The most inspid and useless term ever, he succeeded in breaking up the Union , he showed his incompetence for the world to see, if not for tinubu’s time as president I wud still have been looking at him and his kit and Kin as some sharp men of the world, very savvy in world affairs and financial matters not knowing it is limited to embezzlement and looting the private and public sectors and hosting owambe parties and having kids here and there 67 Likes 3 Shares |

While Tinubu may have shown competence as a leader in his role as ECOWAS chairman, let's not forget that he belongs to the same party that brought us years of misgovernance and corruption under the PDP. We cannot trust someone who is part of the problem to suddenly become 4 Likes 1 Share |

What a disastrous leadership. Under his watch, he failed to reconcile the 3 nations under him. To make the matter worse, he was threatening them....souvereign states for that matter . With a decent leadership in place, the trois wouldn't have left the ecowas as they did. They contribute immensely to the development of the region in the areas of livestock, LPG, tomatoes, beans and onions production. Now there would be trade barriers and those items will be very costly. Any LPG importer will now need a visa to enter Niger. We'd pay heavy taxes on our gas pipelines that pass their countries to Europe. I don't know what his advisers are smoking. It's either they're not competent or he's not listening to them. Tinubu will be the worst president to govern Nigeria. Even the known clueless one wasn't this clueless. Failed to govern Nigeria also failed to govern ecowas. Stepping aside when his tenure isn't yet expired is another proof of failure 45 Likes 4 Shares |

A true calamity he was during his reign For the first time , 3 countries left the community and the bloc is now more fragmented then ever The same way he would leave Nigeria after his tribulations. What is surprising even those who campaigned for him are reeling under the agony of his misrule 20 Likes 1 Share |

System202:Jagaban was the best as ECOWAS chairman, he showed he has balls of steel, kicked out military dictactors who hijacked constitutional democracy from ECOWAS and put them under strict sanctions, not until Gowon pleaded on their behalf. Jagaban, under one year, attracted African Energy Bank and African Central Bank to Nigeria. A legacy to his name. Watch out, Jagaban is coming back as ECOWAS Chairman very soon. 7 Likes |
