A clogged sink drain can be a real nuisance. Thankfully, many modern sinks feature a pop-up bounce core drain with a removable filter, making cleaning and maintenance a breeze. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to replace the filter in your pop-up bounce core basin drain:

Tools and Materials:

Replacement Pop-Up Bounce Core Basin Drain Filter (ensure it's compatible with your drain size)
Rag or towel (optional)
Flat-head screwdriver (optional)

Steps:

Pop Up the Drain: Press the center button on the drain cover to pop it up and open the drain.

Remove the Old Filter: The filter placement can vary slightly depending on your drain model like stainless steel basin drain filter. Here are the two common scenarios:

Removable Filter Basket: In some models, the filter is a small basket inside the drain opening. Lift the basket out by hand.

Filter Attached to Drain Plunger: In other models, the filter might be attached to the underside of the drain plunger (the piece that pops up and down). You might need a tool to remove it:
Without a screw: Carefully pull the filter straight down from the drain plunger. It might be held in place by friction.
With a screw: Use a flat-head screwdriver to loosen the screw securing the filter to the drain plunger. Then, gently pull the filter down to remove it.

Clean the Drain Area (Optional): Use a damp cloth or rag to remove debris or grime around the drain opening while removing the filter.
Insert the New Filter: Align the new filter with the drain opening and gently push it into place. If your filter has a specific orientation (e.g., basket with holes facing upwards), ensure it's positioned correctly.

Reattach Filter to Plunger (if applicable): If your filter has a screw attachment, carefully align it with the drain plunger and tighten the screw with the flat-head screwdriver.

Test the Drain: Close the drain by pressing the center button. Run water down the drain to ensure it flows freely and the filter is seated correctly.

Additional Tips:

Match the Filter Size: Ensure the replacement filter is compatible with your drain size. Most filters come in standard sizes, but it's always a good idea to double-check before purchasing.

Clean Regularly: Regularly cleaning the drain filter can help prevent clogs and extend the lifespan of your drain. Aim to clean the filter every few weeks or months, depending on usage.

Consult Your Manual (if needed): If you need clarification on the specific removal process for your drain model, refer to your sink's user example multinexx manual for detailed instructions.
