My people, I am.bothered about the decision my sister is taking... This is my twin sister she is 23years old... I am here in Lagos while she is schooling in Enugu... Now, she called our mom telling her dat she has found someone who wants to marry her, we were happy, I didn't have any problem with that... You know on a norms, I asked my sister about this man and what I heard didn't sit well with me at all... I am among those guys dat believe in a good healthy relationship dat grows with positivity I am against gold digging... But, unfortunately my blood sister is exhibiting gold digging.
The man in question she wants to marry is a man who is not fully separated from his wife and this man is in his 40s and has three kids already, but he is rich and that was what attracted my sister to him I know, but I am not in support... My mom as well is not in support, our younger bro is also not in support, but my sister has made up her mind🤦🏾‍♂️... She doesn't know what she is getting herself into...

I think you guys should let her be. Polygamy is part of our life in Africa and sincerely do not see anything wrong with it. A woman seeks for a man that can provide, protect and love her, if all these ingredients are okay with her, why are you using your moral lense to decide for her?
She will be okay

OP, I'll be very blunt with you.

There's nothing your family can do about this now because that man has used money to blindfold your sister's eyes. Your sister too is there for the money. As long as the money is flowing, your sister no go send una! Her eyes go soon clear. That man isn't her age mate or anywhere close to age gape with her.

Did she tell you guys the reason for the man's separation? Allow her to choose the part she wants for herself but she should blame herself if anything goes south tomorrow. Na the money dey enter her eyes now, e go shock her after marriage

I understand how you feel couple with the fact that she isn't just a sister but a twin sister to you. You can only take the horse to the river but you can't make the horse to drink.

She is an adult now and can decide what's best for her wether good or bad, unfortunately she isn't doing her due diligence to even consider why the first marriage is breaking up and wether it is in her best interest to jump into the bandwagon.

The reason you are a bit disappointed is because you think your sister is different from other ladies in the society even if she is raised to be part of a contributory process needed to grow marriage. Actually she isn't quite different from the ladies you meet in the society as you once thought.

The only thing you can do for her is to give her the information she should know as regards what's she entering, she should know the merits and the demerits of this scenario and whatever decisions she comes out with the family should support her. If the merits hits her she will enjoy while when she hits gnash her teeth, accountability is on her shoulders.

It's her choice, but let her know the advantage n also disadvantage of going into such marriage in order to avoid calling innocent village people later, when she knows it's her greed that is the cause.

I never see polygamy as bad as u see it. If she is happy allow her to be happy. A northern married more than one wife even in their sixties they still marry younger women even our forefathers also do it during their time

Where are the uncles and men in your house Is your father late The only thing I see is your younger bro. Who makes decisions in your family and where you come from I think you should start from there instead of Nairaland. Men know how to handle fellow men, that is why they are usually given objective decisions to make.

And what if the man wants to make your sister a 2nd wife officially?

Does he have to have a problem with his first wife before he married your sister?

Omo! She is good, polygamy is part of us and we are polygamous, the way many hate polygamy is the way I hate married men cheating, I am making enough money to have a polygamous family than the monogamy I am already into, let her be

Speak to your uncles about it. There may be something you can't see. When you speak to them first, you'll know what is missing.

The red flags you see about this man, discuss this with them in private. Do not attack your twin. It is true they say love is blind and marriage is an eye opener. Your twin is already in love and she is blind. It is the elders in the family who can see beyond the nose that can now make decisions. They also have a way of setting traps for someone who doesn't mean well and wants to join their family. They can also use wisdom to let your sis see what she is blinded by.
At the end, she will still do what she wants to.

I know it can be sad seeing your twin going like this and you don't want to deceive her but show her support so that if she gets into trouble, she still has a family to turn to. If you make her look stupid, she will keep trying to hide problems and defend her love story. Hopefully the bachelor means well.

What a fuss! You aren't going to marry your sister bro. Let her follow her heart. Marrying a man with kids isn't a taboo. Wealth/richness is a natural factor being considered for a marriage.
Re: My Sister Is Getting Married To A Married Man by haybhi1(m): 9:54pm On Jul 08
As long as the man treats her with respect, and embellish her, wetin remain? Regina Daniel is enjoying her life.

Eventually, you and your other siblings may still even meet the man for upliftment.
Una think say life easy? Make she settle down with one broke guy wey fit never know wetin he wan do with hin life, abi wey go make money finish con later leave the girl after 3 children in his 40s too abi? In fact, how many young men sef dey marry these days? If she leave the man now, who knows what lies ahead. They say a bird at hand better than two in the forest, for a girl who may be so dumb that she's without a skill, education, or any core business sense.

She's being wise to me. Leave the girl alone. Just advise her to be resourceful and use everything to her advantage—secure properties and business and investment from her rich husband rather than just jewelleries and clout materials, simple. Baba even fit kpain before her, she go cry small continue her enjoyment.

When are you people ever going to realize life's usually unfair? The only people it's fair to are women, especially those who can optimize their options, and other people who have brain and opportunities.

Life hard fah. We men have a lot to learn from women's selfishness and putting themselves first.

Sometimes in life it's good to allow people express themselves how they want to and when the results come they themselves will reap the rewards for good or bad. The least u can do is advice her. The final decision is up to o her

The country is hard so anywhere money dey now, go grab am as long as you no commit crime. Your sister is trying to secure her future and the future of her unborn kids and you're here crying like a baby. Well you are just 23, what do you know?
