The herdsmen vehemently rejected the move by the NASS to ban open grazing n creates a commission for ranching n other related matters insisting that a ministry of livestock should be created for them, Tinubu has now given in to their demands,we wait to see the results of this decision by Tinubu,time shall tell.

I can confirm to you that the current minister of state for agriculture would drive the ministry as a substantive minister.

It's high time we ended this farmers / herders clashes that has discouraged our farmers from going to farm.

The hunger is becoming unbearable and you don't expect Tinubu, or any responsible president to be watching and I believe history will be kind to him for this decision.

Whatever that would make Herders and Farmers to go their separate ways is okay by me and should be supported by well meaning Nigerians. Let's end the clashes and the killings.


What 'drive' would the new minister and ministry drive that cannot be 'driven' under the present FMARD structure?

If the minister of state needs a full fledged ministry to function effectively, then either he or the substantive minister of FMARD should not be in office in the first place. Or is it not the same departments, institutes and offices concerned with livestock in FMARD that would be used in the new Ministry?

So by creating a ministry for livestock, it automatically translates to ending the herders-farmers clashes? Or would the new ministry be staffed with special livestock security officers?

How does hunger warrant the creation of a new ministry when all that is needed is for proper policies to be put in place for FMARD to function well.

The government keeps complaining about not having money, yet it is creating more offices for cronies who are clueless.

Only sycophants support rubbish, waste and kneejerk policies, not well meaning Nigerians.

Miyatti Allah, a blood-sucking group of people who have conducted progressive massacre, genocide and ethnic cleansing throughout the middle-belt of Nigeria (who are also having the intention to continue down South with their carnage), have had an excuse of a demand of theirs met (without qualms) by the government; whereas an innocent man who has sacrificed himself to champion the cause of a people who have never been treated as citizens of a country which they've been forced to believe they are part of, is being kept in perpetual incarceration (despite the fact that there exists no charge against him under law) just because he is asking for what is Necessary for his people.
Now is there any more reason for this setup called Nigeria to continue existing?

We already have Ministry of Agriculture FGS. Maybe he should equally create Ministry of Spare Parts Development.

Livestock development is a big deal in Nigeria, it will reduce the conflicts between farmers and herders as far as the agency will be run for the good of everybody. It's normal to create special agencies for issues like this

What's the meaning of livestock again?
Hope this ministry is not only for herders?
Agriculturists( poultry, piggery, goat, ram rearers) across all the states are involved in livestock rearing, so this uncalled-for ministry should capture them all.
In my own opinion, this ministry is waste of taxpayers monies.Or will it be funded by loan from China? ( After all, Nigeria is now used to borrowing money from China).

Yeah the assumption is that it will serve only the fulani, but are other tribes not into livestock like raising goats, sheep, poultry etc? I realized that even most of the clashes we are having are due to failed leadership, leaders that don't know how to sit people down and formulate what will work for everybody, instead leaders are busy buying Gucci suits and Rolex wristwatches. Is normal to create an agency under a ministry like this, it's not a poor decision, the problem is proper management

The solution to conflicts between farmers and herders is to ban Open Grazing and encourage Ranching. That's how it is done in civilised countries.

The creation of a new ministry for Cattle development when we already have Ministry of Agriculture, is a political move by Tinubu to pacify those Northern cattle rearers.
