The Rivers State University Business School (RSUBS) was established by the Senate of Rivers State University during its 275th regular meeting, held on Thursday, April, 2021 following the proposal for its creation by the Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Prof. N. Gladson Nwokah. RSUBS is governed by a committee appointed by the Vice-Chancellor and chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Administration of the University. The school's daily operations are managed by the Director of the Business School also appointed by the Vice Chancellor. Professor N. Gladson Nwokah, a seasoned Professor of Strategic and Internet Marketing is its current Director.

The school is situated on the main campus of the university in Nkpolu-Oroworukwu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Port Harcourt is known as the Garden City and is an industrial hub and oil-rich state in the nation.
