Landing Gear Components - AGK 🚀 The landing gear system of an aircraft is a complex assembly made up of numerous structural and system components. 🛠️ Structural Components ✈️ 1. Main Fitting: This is the central piece of the landing gear, providing support and attachment points for other components. 2. Shock Absorber: Helps cushion the impact during landing, ensuring a smoother touchdown. 3. Bogie Beam / Trailing Arm: These components support the wheels and distribute the aircraft's weight. 4. Axle: The part on which the wheels are mounted, allowing them to rotate. 5. Torque Links: Prevents the landing gear from twisting and keeps the wheels aligned. 6. Drag / Side Braces: Provide additional support and stability to the landing gear, ensuring it can handle the forces during landing and takeoff. 7. Retraction Actuator: A hydraulic or electric actuator that retracts and extends the landing gear. 8. Down Lock Mechanism: Ensures the landing gear stays locked in the down position during landing. 9. Up Lock: Secures the landing gear in the retracted position during flight. 10. Wheel: The component that makes contact with the runway. 11.
