Steps to take:

1. CLEARANCE IN SCHOOL: NYSC mobilization starts right after graduates have completed their final clearance in their respective institutions.

2. GET YOUR STATEMENT OF RESULTS: After completing your final clearance the next step is to obtain your statement of results. It will be needed for registration in the NYSC orientation camp.

3. SIGN UP FOR NYSC: While waiting for your statement of results to be ready, you can proceed to register for NYSC at the department of student affairs directorate in your institution of learning. This is internal mobilization.

4. VERIFY YOUR NAME ON JAMB MATRICULATION LIST: It is important to verify your name on JAMB matriculation list because if your name is not on the list you will not be able to see your name in the NYSC SENATE LIST and even if your name is on the senate list it will have a notification error stating that "YOU ARE HAVE NOT BEEN MATRICULATED, hence you cannot be eligible to register for service.

5. VERIFY YOUR NAME ON THE SENATE LIST: Your institution will upload the names of those who are eligible to serve on the NYSC portal. After this list has been uploaded, please verify your name.

6. NYSC ONLINE REGISTRATION: Only those whose names were uploaded on the NYSC Senate list will be eligible to register online for the service. For detailed guideline on the processes involved in NYSC online registration Click Here

7. PRINT YOUR CALL UP LETTER: After registering online, the next thing is to wait for your call up letter to be out. The letter will show you the state you have been deployed to, date to report and other necessary information.

8. GET THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR CAMP REGISTRATION: Make sure all the necessary documents are ready because you will need them at the NYSC Orientation camp for registration.

NYSC AGE

The NYSC age reduction is a scam, a fraudulent scheme that targets individuals who are over the age limit for participating in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program in Nigeria.

The scam involves individuals or agencies claiming to be able to reduce the age of prospective corps members in order to make them eligible for the program.

Prospective corps members should be careful of any offers or requests for money in exchange for age reduction services, as this is likely a scam.

It is important to only interact with legitimate NYSC channels and thoroughly do research on any claims or offers before agreeing to them.

Service is for those who graduated between the age of 18-30 years.

NYSC calculates your age as thus;

RESULT APPROVAL DATE (AVAILABLE ON YOUR SENATE LIST) -

JAMB DOB (AVAILABLE ON YOUR JAMB PROFILE)

For example, your result was approved on the 10/05/2023 by your school senate and your Date of birth on Jamb is 02/03/1995.

When you are to minus both, it's around 28 years which still falls below service age.

You have to graduate between those ages before you are eligible for service. And if you graduate above that age, you will be exempted automatically and given exemption certificate/ letter .

This is the one that affects most people that after they register, they get exempted via their dashboard.

To know your legal age
The DOB on your jamb is used as your official date of birth not your NIN.

The result approval date on your Statement of result is used as your graduation date.

On the other hand, if you graduated within the 18-30 years age bracket, you can never get exemption even if you are 60 years.

Meaning you can serve if you decide to in next twenty years so far you graduated and result approved before you clocked 30 years old

What to do for your name to be added to the NYSC mobilization list?

1. Ensure you complete your final clearance with your institution.

2. Sign up for NYSC at the Directorate of Students’ Affairs in your school.

3. Confirm your name on the senate list before your institution sends it to NYSC.

4. Make sure your name is on the JAMB matriculation list.

Types and processes of mobilization

We have the internal and external mobilization, the internal mobilization is what I explained above, it has to do with your school.

1st STAGE: Internal Mobilization: This is when institutions will start compiling their list to know graduates that are qualified for NYSC mobilization. The result of the internal mobilization is the approved senate list. Which will be pasted at the school premises for graduates to check their names and details.

2nd STAGE: Senate List Hard Copy: The second stage is when your institution will send the hard copy of the approved Senate List straight to NYSC Headquarters Abuja for verification before it will be uploaded on the NYSC portal. This stage is very necessary for the NYSC management because of some institutions that fraudulently mobilize unqualified graduates for NYSC will be fished out .

3rd STATE: Senate List Online :The 3rd stage is when the senate list after thorough examination by the NYSC management will finally be uploaded on the NYSC portal online. Once your institution’s Senate List is successfully uploaded, you will be able to do your online registration successfully.

4th STAGE: PCMs Senate List Verification: The 4th stage is when prospective Corps members will start verifying their names on the NYSC portal before they can proceed with NYSC registration. Then other stages will follow; such as *registration, deployment, printing of Call Up Letter, Orientation program etc....* Until all accredited institutions _[except those who don’t want to be mobilized]_ release their Senate List and paste it, you will not go to the next Stage.

*If you are going to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Nigeria, there are several essential items you should pack to ensure that you have a comfortable and productive stay. Here are some of the things you should take along to the NYSC orientation camp:*

*Call-up letter*: This is the official document that contains your posting details and other important information. You must take this letter along with you to the camp.

*NYSC registration documents*: You should also take along all the documents that you used during your online registration. This includes your statement of result or certificate, passport photographs, and other necessary documents.

*Proper identification*: You will need to show your ID card at different points during your stay at the camp. It is essential to take along at least two means of identification such as your national ID card, driver's license, or international passport.

*Adequate clothing*: You will need to pack comfortable clothing suitable for the climate of the camp. You should take along a few pairs of shorts, trousers, T-shirts, and polo shirts. You should also pack a few pairs of socks, underwear, and a sturdy pair of sneakers or shoes for physical activities.

*Personal hygiene products*: It is essential to pack toiletries such as toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, deodorant, and sanitary pads (for females). You should also pack a towel, face towel, and a small bag for carrying your toiletries.

*Bedding materials*: You will need to take along a bedsheet, pillowcase, and pillow or neck roll for sleeping. You can also take along a mosquito net if you are prone to mosquito bites.

*Stationery*: You should take along a notebook, pen, and other stationery materials you may need for note-taking during lectures or other activities.

*Basic medications*: You should pack essential medications such as pain relievers, anti-malaria drugs, and first aid kit in case of minor injuries or illnesses.

*Cash*: You should take along enough cash to cover your expenses during your stay at the camp, such as buying food or toiletries.

*Optional items*: You can also take along other items such as books, a small radio, a camera, and other personal items that may make your stay more comfortable and enjoyable.

Remember to pack only essential items to avoid overburdening yourself during the trip. You should also label your items properly to avoid mix-ups with other corps members' belongings.
