President Bola Tinubu has issued an immediate directive for the removal of Ahmed Halilu, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Plc (NSPM), along with four other executives of the company.

According to an exclusive report by Premium Times, Halilu, who assumed the role in September 2022 under ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, is the brother of former First Lady Aisha Buhari.

Affected by the removal directive are Ado Danjuma, Executive Director of Corporate Services; Chris Orewa, Executive Director of Operations at the Lagos Factory; Tunji Kazeem, Executive Director of Security Documents; and Victoria Irabor, Company Secretary. Mrs. Irabor is married to retired General Lucky Irabor, a former Chief of Defence Staff.

The Defence Headquarters, under General Irabor’s leadership in 2023, intervened to protect former Central Bank Governor Godwin Emefiele from arrest by deploying troops to secure his residence and workplace.
In the interim, Abubakar Minjibir, Executive Director of Operations at the Abuja factory, has been tasked to serve as the acting Managing Director. The reasons behind Mr. Minjibir’s continuation in office were not specified.

Sidi Hakama, the spokesperson for the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), did not respond to calls or messages seeking comment on the developments at the NSPM.

Where is this toughness when it comes to sacking hardship and rising food prices and inflation?

In the fullness of time everything reveals itself.
A wise man once said, if u live long enough, you live to see all ur enemies die.
May we be alive to see all pieces of life puzzles fit.

The unravelling continues..

He should have started with all these.. instead of jumping out to shout 'Subsidy is gone'..

It's not enough to just remove them.. their time in office should also be probed.. still didn't understand how Emefiele is in custody but this guy that handled the criminal new currency printing during the cash scarcity period is not..

It's clear President Tinubu is taking decisive action. The sacking of key officials signifies a commitment to addressing issues within the administration. It will be interesting to see how these changes impact governance and the effectiveness of his policies moving forward.

Let's not rush and call him crazy. Let's use this as a litmus to test if this government is tribal bigotry like Buhari.

He is making that statement based on precedence we have seen so far, you shouldn't sugar coat that statement. It's unfortunate this precedence was set by Buhari and Tinubu is following that line.

See as them share all key positions to themselves. And you expect the country to thrive? Where merits are thrown to the dogs and competence an alien word.

Country can’t move forward filling already filled buckets.

as someone from Adamawa Yola I must commend tinubu for removing this foolish guy modi halilu, it's long overdue. Modi is just a useless thief who has no job untill his sister became first lady. With all the money he stole his community have to buy water from Jerry can pushers to drink. He went to Abuja still money and came back to contest for Governorship, people rejected him right from primaries. Not happy with the outcome his sister Nenne Buhari uses her influence and helped removed unintelligent Bindow then install fintiri. Even last election she, nuhu Ribadu, went against binani and rob her victory.

Body of the article clearly shows diversion of main storyline from Halilu who was in charge to an ordinary secretary and your guess is as good as mine why. This Emefiele's matter will either nàked some people or expose hypocrisy and bigotry. It's time for his ethnic group and region to speak up for him in my opinion
