A study on marriage.com found that 54% of first-time cohabiting couples break up within six years of moving in together, compared to 33% who officially marry during that time. Only 29% of school sweethearts end up together after graduation.

Research has consistently shown that 85% of people will experience a breakup in their lifetime, while 71% of people stay in touch with their exes after a breakup, 60% of people admit to stalking their ex on social media after a breakup. Approximately 70% of straight unmarried couples break up within the first year.

With the above scientific facts, it's obvious that breakups, divorce, separations etc are integral part of our social lives. Meaning it's not new and didn't start today and won't stop in our generation. What are the lessons you learned after your failed relationships?

pS: Romantic Relationships of course, not business relationship.

Don't shuffle good partners away because you think there are lots of fish in the sea.

Yes, there are lots of fishes in the seas, but inside the same sea, some of the fishes are mad, trans, have the wrong genotypes, are traumatized beyond redemption, daft, incompatible belief systems, and if you luckily find the right fish, the fish doesn't want you.

Just like it is extremely hard to hit a jackpot, the same applies to catching a good partner. Don't fall inside the societal lie that you can easily replace some people.

Hear it now. Some people cannot be replaced. If you lose them, you will regret them for the rest of your life. And if someone is genuinely good to you and loves you, you most likely will regret taking them for granted.

Good people are representative of God in your life. If you lose them, you lose God, and when you lose God, you have only the devil left.

Don't do this to yourself. And time is not your friend, it goes on as you are busy losing and shuffling people. Put in the effort when good people show up in your life, and make sure that if they leave, it is not your fault.
