The member representing Nkanu East constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Okechukwu Anthony Mbah has gifted one of his constituents, Miss Chidera Anichukwu, a sum of ₦200,000 for emerging as the best student at Adorable British College Enugu

Miss Anichukwu, a final year student of the school, was recently announced as the best graduating student of the college, situated in Emene, during an event that marked the school's graduation and price winning ceremony.

It was reported that she was gifted a sum of ₦500,000 by Zenith Bank Plc, in addition to the full scholarship awarded to her by the Nigerian British University, Abia State.

According to reports, Hon. Mbah, who was overwhelmed with the sterling academic performance of Miss Anichukwu, made a cash donation of ₦200,000 in support of her academic growth.

Speaking with newsmen in Enugu, Hon. Mbah stated that Miss Anichukwu, who is a native of Nomeh Unateze, in the Nkanu East Local Government area,has become a reference point for all the students in his constituency

He stated that achieving such an outstanding performance in a renowned institution such as Adorable British College has made her a star whose shining would soon impact the world. He added that his gesture is also part of his commitment to upholding education standards and academic excellence in his constituency, in line with Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s administration’s roadmap in education. He also commended the government's creation of the enabling environment for the private sector to thrive in the state.

He called on his constituents to emulate Miss Chidera Anichukwu's footsteps, and tap into the state Government's new smart school project, asserting that Nkanu East has all it takes to be the best as it has always been.

Hon. Mbah further elaborated on his vision for educational advancement in Nkanu East.

According to him, "Investing in education is investing in our future. The achievements of students like Miss Anichukwu show that with the right support and resources, our youth can excel and bring positive change to our community."

He emphasized the importance of creating an enabling environment for students to thrive, highlighting various initiatives his office has implemented to support education, including scholarships and providing learning materials.

He further said;

We are proud of Miss Anichukwu and will continue to support other students in our constituency to reach their full potential," Hon. Mbah concluded.
