God is the third person in the midst of every couple joined in holy matrimony. Be mindful of the fact that God is aware of everything happening between them, each individual's interactions with others, their cooperation in dealing with other people, and how they treat each other.

The Lord is in the midst of every married couple as a witness to what will become of their union. He is deeply interested in how they treat each other and those within the circumference of their home. God honors every marriage and expects men to do the same. Therefore, He commands men not to tamper with the marriage of any person. Regardless of who you are, you will not be innocent if you put asunder what God has joined together.

God was a witness to what King David did to Uriah's wife, even when Uriah was unaware. David suffered the consequences of his actions. God was also a witness between Ananias and Sapphira when they conspired to deceive the people of God. Additionally, God witnessed when Adam and Eve made a pact with the devil to disobey His instructions. Contrastingly, God was a witness to the positive impact Aquila and Priscilla had on several believers, including Apollos.

In every marriage, God is an observer of what is done to each other and what they do to others. This divine presence underscores the sanctity of marriage and the seriousness with which God views the vows made between a husband and wife. It is a reminder that every action within a marriage is seen by God, who holds us accountable for our faithfulness and integrity in this sacred union.

Meditation: How conscious are you of God's presence as a witness in your marriage and relationships?

Dear Lord, help us to always remember that You are a witness to every marrital vows and actions. Guide us to treat each other with love, respect, and faithfulness in Jesus' name, Amen.
