Imagine frustrating an investor like Dangote, how will foreign investors think of coming here. No wonder foreign companies are running way.

keep quiet! Dangote is looking at monopolize the oil sector as usual. he is trying to be the only supplier of fuel most especially, diesel and that is another economic slavery... hes been enslaving the economy for years and no one checkmated him now hes been checkmated and he cant stand the heat because he is used to freebies he personally infiltrated Cbn for loan and free FOREX using the ambitious and thieving Emefiele at the detriment of the citizenry.

Dangote should stop lobbying the government and allow other competitive investors to enlarge the economy, no matter they region they’re from.
Mr man. Dangote doesn't stop anyone from investing. You can take your money to build a refinery also. And ask your friends to go into the production of cement sugar etc

Ahmed Farouq didn't talk like a government official... The wyere don make Dangote vex grin
his talk aligns perfectly with and exposes the pattern of corruption holding us back in oil.
The issue here is a rotten head in form of the president. He was close to Buhari for rigging of election as far back as 2022 so should know the refinery they have used to campaign for decades needs local crude to benefit the economy.
He is pretending.

Wise decision Mr Aliko.

Evil reigns supreme over my country. Sad.

Baxilexi:
I created a thread months back about why we can’t get foreign investment and surprisingly the government is doing all it can to ensure we never do in actuality.

P&ID case comes to mind, now Dangote.

https://www.nairaland.com/8019576/foreigners-invest-nigeria

Mr Dangote, I’m no expert in your field but you need to think critically about how the operations of your refinery will work without going bankrupt. This government is at loggerheads with you.

Also, this is your nemesis. Karma is manifest in your lifetime, it’s just sad that it came early.
You’ve been in bed with governments that ruined the lives of Nigerians, you tell yourself, I’m a businessman not a politician, you absolve your conscience from the woes of your fellow citizens, and now you finally understand the “tale of the horseshoe nail”. What wasn’t a concern to you is about to cripple your empire. Your uncle went abegging to Mr Tinubu some months back I guess that couldn’t save you.

Make penance and stand with the truth this time around and perhaps God in his benevolence may forgive your sins. And posterity will remember you as a hero in the new Nigeria.

Baxilexi:
And all of a sudden those who have never worked or run a successful refinery have become experts on distillation and premium PMS.

Dangote has sold jet fuel/diesel over the past months and so far no negative reports from his customers.

Nigeria, is there an end to state sabotage and racketeering?

This fellow cares about monopoly… do these guys listen to themselves? Where’s the promised refinery?

In one breath we wish to attract foreign investment, then we sabotage their business.

Well, Mr Dangote, tick-tock, you’re running out of time, EU green deal is happening. Jaguar just ended their gasoline line of vehicles. Angola is set to increase production capacity later this year. Your client base is shrinking by the minute.

NNPC may just be wading for your bankruptcy and then purchase your refinery, think fast.

This is a fantastic development for the FG! Partnering with Dangote could significantly boost our refining capacity and enhance local production. It’s a step towards self-sufficiency in oil.

He would sell for the right price but NNPC can't afford it. He won't go below $45 billion.

With that amount, what happens to the refinery is not his business.

This is the outcome when somebody imposed himself as a president. Would Amaechi or even the one Nigerians wanted to be president have done same if the were the president?

That NNPC shouldn't even be existing, if we're being honest. It is one of the most useless and corrupt agencies ruining Nigeria. NNPC has been destroying Nigeria for decades - not that the equally useless politicians care because that's how they want it. I feel sorry for Dangote though he's also been a player/protagonist in the rotten, corrupt Nigerian economy.

You nailed it!

Why I always tell people in the diaspora never to think of Nigeria when they have thought of investing back home. We have so many countries in Africa if they adamant to invest in Africa.

Nigeria will frustrate your soul, family, business, spirit and afterlife. Dangote would have been better off if he invested in Ghana, Niger or Cameroun, and ship products to Nigeria.

If a multi billionaire can be frustrated these way, imagine what the little ones trying to invest a million dollars back home will face😀😀😀😀

Bro it might sound as though you are making sense, But furnishing your papa house will always be a better choice than furnishing your best friend apartment ... look at what UK did to abramovich,

All those country Nigeria see as better country today, some people fought and took the pain to make it what it is today ...

Dangote refinery might be a private business, but its operation wil benefit Nigerians in more ways than we envisage, there are investors watching if only the road was smooth for dangote more private refinery would spring up, lets imagine the benefits

i wish nigerians can raise an #istandwithdangote across social media ... if dangote should fail then nobody can rise to that height to break us free from chains of subsidy and Nnpc whip

This situation is deeply saddening. I am neither a politician nor a northerner; I am simply a Nigerian citizen.

The people must stand up against these injustices, or else the elites will continue to hinder every business in Nigeria to benefit themselves through their cronies and control over the masses.

The cabals have crippled the Port Harcourt and Warri refineries to siphon off millions of dollars annually from dormant facilities. Now, they are targeting a private refinery that dared to prove them wrong. They started by withholding crude supply and are now labeling their products as low quality.

If NNPC finds the quality below standard, why not engage in discussions with the refinery instead of attempting to dismantle the entire operation?

Dangote, please don't give up. I urge you to consider exporting 100% of your products to countries that appreciate their value.

In Nigeria, talent is destroyed either due to an inability to compete or because some do not benefit from it.

If Nigeria is a serious country, that Ahmed Farouk should be arrested.

From there the government should fish out those who are sabotaging the economy and use them as scape goat.

What is actually wrong with monopoly? American economy is built on monopolies starting from the time of Carnegie,Rothschild; even at the moment Facebook,Tesla you name it.
The challenge with Nigerian government operators/regulators is that their personal interests superceeds the national interest.
Big nations give subsidies and bail out when necessary to private companies whose operations drive their economy and Nigeria is experiencing high rated inflation at the moment due to energy cost, what is the essence of this dragging between Nigerian government officials and Dangote?
