The Ikwerre people are indeed believed to have migrated from the Igbo heartland, specifically from present-day Imo and Abia States, to their current location in Rivers State.

This migration is thought to have occurred centuries ago, and over time, the Ikwerre developed their distinct identity, culture, and dialect while still maintaining connections to their Igbo roots.

It's not uncommon for ethnic groups to migrate and settle in new areas, and this can lead to the development of new identities and cultural practices while still retaining ties to their ancestral heritage.

Even the Bini they claim as their roots has been debunked ,after the oba of Benin called their bluff
