A member of the House of Representatives, Idris Salman representing Ijimu/Kabba Bunu Federal Constituency of Kogi state on Tuesday defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the All Progressive Congress (APC).

His defection was announced by the Speaker of the House, Rep Tajudeen Abbas during plenary in Abuja.

Speaking after his letter was read, the Minority Whip, Ali Jc, while raising a point of order said that the seat of Rep Salman be declared vacant. according to the constitution.

”The seat of any House of Reps member or Senator Should be declared vacant if he or she defects from his party to another party”.

However, the Speaker ruled him out of order.

Why did the speaker rule out the minority leader for asking the speaker declare the member seat vacant for decamping? Is that not what the law says?

The people in that national assembly are demons who have refused to uphold the law that they create. That protests must start from there
