Which Nigerian Leader Will Re-start The Push For Population And Birth Control? by whatisthetruth: 2:48pm On Jul 24 |
When you drive around town in states in Nigeria and your mind isn't super busy, you might notice along the scenery, so many Nigerians that look seemingly dejected. You might come across a scene of multiple men just hanging about all day by the roadside. You might come across lots and lots of children that should be in schools in tattered clothing and the likes. I often wonder, what if that were me? What if my parents gave birth to me and just left me to fend for myself, how would I cope? How would I build myself? Would I even have the mental capacity to think my way out of the box of my neglected upbringing? Let us try to make our voices louder in Nigeria for family planning and birth control. We need to push this to the leaders somehow. It is not okay to just have so many children that one doesn't intend to fend for, it's not okay at all Nigeria. |

The Catholic and the Muslim community sees birth control as a Sin. They say you are trying to alter God's command of go yee into the world, be fruitful and multiply. |

Will the muslims allow it?.. they still marry as many wives and father hundreds of kids they can't take care of. Yorubas will say.. 'omo beere, osi beere'. The osi in the country is becoming nauseating. 1 Like |

flokii: Bro, we must find moral leaders that would damn the consequences. It is so sad yo! Sometimes, like you'd be having a good day, or a great day even, then you pull up to a junction and you look out the window and see kids in rags begging, people looking so skinny - the type of skinny that overweight people would be running on a treadmill for YEARS to hit. Even if I give some kid on the street N1k, I'm thinking to myself, then what after that 1k is done, but then again I think okay at least give, but then again I think am I encouraging more kids to leave school by giving. Then the guys that just stay on the street from morning till night. I know even some of us that claim to be intellectual, as per using computers and stuff, also have days, weeks.. maybe, that we just stay lazy and do nothing, maybe watching shows, but you have to admit that the potential to learn is higher being that you are comfortable with a laptop and internet vs just sitting outside under a tree. Maybe you'd stumble on some new knowledge that you might even take for granted, or some quick "how to" post on X that changes that way you use toothpaste for instance... Obviously, we also have the focused intellectuals with Laptops that are learning rapidly and trying to improve their skills to improve their earning potential. I'm just saying that even some of us lazy folks would still acquire knowledge compared to folks that just sit down under a tree in their multitude, doing nothing but gisting and maybe hoping for some drama on the streets that they could partake in. Seems to be why when your car breaks down, like in Lagos where I live for instance, boys just start springing out of seemingly nowhere, not to help oo, but to ask for money. As a bare min solution, we should have a STRICT LAW THAT BANS CHILDREN BEGGING ON THE STREETS OF NIGERIA. Any child seen begging should be taken away from the parents and placed in foster homes that are funded by both the private sector and the government. |

Depriest2020: How exactly are Catholics against Birth Control? It would be hypocritical for quote God saying, "go out and multiply", without implicitly understanding that God the father, would want you to care for those children just as he cares for you. So, to imply that one can be careless in birthing and abandoning children is in line with Gods will is wrong. We need to act quickly, because the situation is getting out of hand. |
