It's possible they have been collecting money to repaint and renovate that place every year for the past ten years and refused to do it and now it has gone to the Internet they quickly repainted it to cover up their corruption practises.. this is a case of yearly embezzlement.

Thats how government should react to the masses wish
Not the opposite

That's if the wishes are not stupid wishes, such as asking for Tinubu to step down and allow Hoebee to become president.

This is what we all have to be doing .. we have to become pressure group on the government , go to government ministries with hidden cameras and show their good works to the world .. instead of us looking for a destructive protest ,, let us become a presure group on this people ..
Re: NERDC Repaints Lagos Office After Social Media User Called Them Out by Image123(m): 6:36pm On Jul 24
Some people think it can only be achieved through protest and killing of political enemies.

Government actually listens but try to be civil and diplomatic when calling out on them.

The NERDC National Education Research Development Council was called out on Socialedia concerning their Jibowu offcie in Lagos. The building looked old and there was a complaint about why it looked that way..

The building was eventually renovated

If the intent is there, it will take less than 15 years to totally transform Nigeria. The Asian tigers did it will less funds.

It's not as if they don't collect allocation but some of these parastatals and co are filled up with thieves whose objectives and goal are not different thereby giving the federal government bad names . Go to most federal Secretariat with more than 4 floors you won't find the lifts there working.

Even the painting is odd. More like Sango shrine.

Looks more like a residential area to me

Simply means somebody had the funds but refused to do it . I'm sure there was a budget for maintenance

And now he is afraid that he will be exposed so he hurriedly painted it
of course, each director collects millions for the painting and yet they do nothing. In the end we blame Lagos State government or the president.

You sound confused.

Is it a coat of paint you are calling upgrade?

Thomaz31:
It’s a shame to see the Jibowu office getting so much flak. Sometimes, old buildings just don’t get the upgrades they need due to budget constraints or other priorities.

Like most things in Nigeria, there are provisions and people assigned to tackle those issues, but the individuals are usually irresponsible.
Go to the average govt office, they just sit around collecting salaries, believing nobody can hold them responsible.

That painting job could have cost 50 million going by the well known practice.

Government isn't even supposed to be reactionary. They should have been proactive in the first place rather than waiting for infrastructure to decay.

Painting the building isn't enough. The curriculum itself should be painted to reflect the modern times the young ones are in. We too like eye service for this country.

They had chopped the budget money for many years.
