Kukutenla:It’s illiteracy at its peak for the Nigerian army to be bothered with civil disobedience when that’s the jurisdiction of the police. It’s not surprising when you consider the kind of leaders we have who in a normal country aren’t qualified to even be local government councilors. Nigeria is one of the countries in the world where the worse among us are the rulers. If you are the ceo of a company I doubt you would name one of the current leaders of this country to be the manager of your company and yet we have those same people as the managers of our country 1 Like |

Nairaland should correct the heading, Army never released that press conference, rather it was DHQ Defense headquarters. |

You have been warned o. Any protest outside of peaceful protest at your state secretariat and local government, you are playing ludo with your life. After maximum of 2 or 3 weeks, everything will be back to the usual daily hustle. I pray you are intact by then. Protest with sense and your voice is heard. |

The most unprofessional and most undisciplined army in the world is trying to intimidate citizens not to exercise their constitutional rights in a civilian government . What a sad joke 2 Likes |

BigBashiru:I'm not sure you personally understand your stand points. If we let it go, you will end up misleading others. You can now see that Egypt pound is worse off to pre-arab spring. I'm not pro-government and believe our leaders have failed us. The protest should be about voting the right leadership. Same people who collected rice and N1k to vote are now protesting against what they brought about. How is that okay. This protest can't be guaranteed to be peaceful and violence will yield nothing. History abound with that. I almost got shot during Endsars going home. |

Oga military, your duty is to fight or ward off external aggression, not to fight the citizens, the police and other civil forces are there so backoff and backout |

highchief1: TANK MAN OF TIENAMEN SQUARE. Nigeria is not China. The Tank man of China's Tienamen Square protest blocked the movement of military tanks against protesters. His ready-to-die defiance brought prosperity to China. But in Nigeria, the Tank man will be shot, if the soldier driving the Tank sees that the Tank man is not from the same ETHNIC OR RELIGIOUS group with the Tank driver.

BigBashiru:Why are you shifting goal post. The comparison is between Egypt pre and post Arab Spring. It shows you Egypt did not gain anything from the violence. How could same people who collected rice and N1K to vote now be complaining? Let's focus on doing the right things to vote the right people and not to start crying from a pain we caused ourselves. Do note that I do not support this government, but my approach to responding is quite different. This pain should make us reject N1k and vote right. |

Dear Nigerian Army, Please 🙏 endeavor to use a live Grenade to reduce the amount of YORUBA or HAUSA people on the day of protest. I know they are cowards and most of them will chicken out of the protest so please find a way to reduce these people. |

SensetionalGoal: The politicians designed fantastic salaries for the soldiers. A Nigeria army general earns N1,5 million a month while minimum wage was N30,0000 per month. The army general and minimum wage man go to the same market to buy foodstuffs. 1 Like |

highchief1: Obviously... This is a wrong mindset. This is the reason for the call to shelve the protest cos of miscreants like you who have an evil agenda underneath an innocent and peaceful protest. While a peaceful protest is going on, it's the likes of low lives like you vandalize people's shops and means of livelihood, carting away goods and causing destruction of other innocent people's properties and then tribalize it into ethnic or societal war. You are nothing short of a mindless criminal disguising in the protest to do harm to same people you are protesting for. At the end, you did not get to house of assembly, nor Aso rock, nor state house, but carry bitterness for your fellow man who is fighting at your side for same cause. I have spotted you. It's a protest and I am in support of it. But do not support vandalism of innocent people's business and means of living irrespective of their tribe, then causing more harm for a common man like yourself. If ever this should occur, then it's no longer a protest and perpetuators should be hanged by their balls. Solidarity and not Chaos, Nor Anarchy!! Long live Nigeria!! Let's fight a good fight for a common cause for Nigeria and common Nigerians. |
