Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike has called for patience among FCT residents, urging them to shun the planned protest against the government in the FCT.

The FCT Minister made the call in Abuja on Thursday, July 25, 2024 when he carried out an inspection visit to the ongoing construction of the 5km temporary access road from the Outer Northern Expressway (ONEX) to the old Keffi road in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) , also known as Saburi road.

Barr. Wike, who spoke in pidgin English, said those behind the protests were only working for their selfish interests, adding that the problems in the country could not also be solved by protesting.

Kudos to the FCT minister,,he's arguably the only minister doing atleast positive things.Abuja suburbs road networks is nothing worth calling the federal capital.

Thanks, though the condescending remark was needless and childish.

Almost every "inspector" of roads and projects in Nigeria does that.

I simply wonder at the constant need for the ceremony and grandstanding.

...And you can engage a community without all that pomp and pageantry.

You're doing well... But this protest is beyond fancy roads and flyovers.

People are hungry!

The security agencies threatening the protesters have forgotten that it is due to their inability to curtail the activities of bandits in the north, that has contributed to to the food crises that were currently facing.

All the monies that they have been throwing about on unnecessary state house projects, hajj, foreign climate trips, etc would have been used to import food items to flood the markets, while they figure out how to tackle the high cost of transportation and get farmers back to their farmlands.

But for where...
