Hardship: I Met My Aunty Crying by ConfusePoint: 8:51am On Jul 26
Yesterday I went to visit my Aunty and met her crying. A single woman teaching in private school whose salary is less than N25,000/month.

She was seriously crying and lamenting over the state of the economy, as regard hardship and inflation.

She complained of not able to afford any of the rice, beans, potato, plantain, Garri etc etc. None at all due to price hike.

Even potato. Who bought it last? Go and confirm and see the quantity sold for N1,000

So practically it's death for her if she is still living and cannot afford all the above basics. That is just one of the hundred of millions of cases across the country including my very self.

I guess protest would draw the attention of the government to the issue since normal online ranting didn't.

See you all on protest day.

This is heartbreaking. 25k salary in this economy is nothing! What does she do? And location? MAYBE I can find one or two opportunities for her.

Protest from now till December, it will not change her salary. Even in the time of Obasanjo and Jonathan, 25k per month was a poor man's salary. She should take responsibility for her failures and restrategize on how to get a better life for herself.

I was surviving as a youth corper on N19,800 and it was ok for me. Super pack indomine was N50, rice, beans and garri was cheap, as long as you have where to stay, you'll be fine unless you're the extravagant type.

Today super pack noodles is N500. Rice beans and garri have tripled. That money is basically useless.

Being a youth corper is a compulsory stage of life for every Nigerian graduate. Even if you weren't paid, you'd still have done it.
As a youth corper my take home pay was about 120k and it still wasn't enough.
That pack of indomie that was N50 and now N500, do you think it's price will not have doubled in 2yrs time? She should get off her fat ass and do something about now and the future
We can't always blame the the government or other people in our lives for our own decision to settle for a mediocre life.

You are calling someone who is working legitimately and probably a graduate a failure?

How I wish someone could see some of you guys face to face.

Where is she living? There’s still hundred of job to do that may not need much money or any money, you just need to think, think, think, try to make sure you are always ahead of Nigeria in term of development and update, it will help you. One of the way to live better life in this era is to be updated. There are several silly ways that people are using to make money. Something you might not even think of.
There is a guy into selling contact of people that buys in China to anyone that want to buy, he sold contact of around 60 people for just 5k,those that paid on that day were up to 100 people including me, their is a shoe that cost around 15k in Nigeria but is 2k in China price. See update your self on what people are using to make money these days. That’s what you need. I saw a mathematical set at 0.01 usd in one China store online and they wanted to sell 3000 pieces, 3k pieces is around 50k naira, let say shipping and etc cost 200k, if one uses 300k for purchase and all that and sell mathematical set at 1k each , 3k pieces times 1k is 3million naira, you don’t need to worry about customer, just use like 20k to run social media ads, sit and watch. Don’t forget, students will resume by sept ending, they will need mathematical set. Not only mathematical set but numerous stuff you can get. Don’t be outdated, that’s how you can cope with life.
See you all on protest day.

What of school bags that are cheap, you can get some at 2k, 3k, and sell as high as 10k, 12k, what of socks, what of fancy note books, what of beret of different colors. Those are the stuff that will be highly needed in demand around sept ending. And those stuff are very cheap there. What happened to you picking just a stuff and buy in large quantities, see the world has gone more easier than before but only for those who are updated will know, some people on social media don’t know the meaning of social media ads, something that have noticed on Facebook since 2017, social media ads has changed the way to get customers in life, unlike before where you will hat goods but no means to get customers, sometimes that people have made it uses useless till the extent of advertising that they need spouse on ads, some are even using it to kidnap people by sending fake job applications. All lot of things has change and has made internet beneficial to human but only those who are updated will know. One of the reasons I don’t joke with nairaland. There’s lot of business update you can get here on nairaland.
Don’t be outdated, that’s how you can cope with life.

See you all on protest day.

Rubbish.

Why will any sensible Igbo man hit the streets Sweating & Protesting? Arrant Nonsense.

Listen and listen very attentively👂 👂 👂.

The insanely Nuts & Sad-W@stes don't want our own brother Nnamdi Kanu (A South-Easterner) to be released but want us to join their foolish protest just because they are hungry and dying.

(*) Check all their point agendas that were listed and tell me whether anyone of them mentioned about the unjust incarceration of our brother? Do you think they care about you or him? Then why will you burn your fat for some cunny crooked people who doesn't wish you well.

What a Stvpid endeavor that even a mentally sick Igbo man should not even think of doing.

When we call for the release of our brother, they will swiftly shout that he is a terrorist, and thus Igbos, Ipob and South-Easterners are all terrorists, and now they want the same terrorist to be sweating with them on the road protesting for their yeye agendas.

(*) Sunday igbogho is a free man now roaming about freely.
(*) Miyetti allah leader is a free man now roaming about freely.
(*) Nnamdi Kanu is in detention and when the house of reps said release him - the same people who organized this useless protest will vehemently say "No, He is a terrorist".

And now the are trying all their possible best to brainwash some gullible South-Easterners to Sweat and Protest against the House of Reps and the government who want to release Nnamdi Kanu, only because hunger is ravaging their regions, nothing else - see human beings with their rotten sense.. Igbos be wise as serpents, in those protesting days, just buy a chilled coke and be enjoying yourself from afar, while the sweat and humiliate themselves like Christmas goats, none of those agendas listed there is really our interest and concern, yes there is small hunger, but Igbos are not the ones committing suicide.

Allow those who sweated stupidly and voted in Bulabaa, to also sweat stupidly and remove him (allow the dead to bury their own).

Protest my foot, Nonsense.

Cease all these things you are doing. You ain't helping. Teaching in other countries is a very good and promising job, but it's just that teachers are not respected in this country. Eg, just like you are criticizing her aunt.

Learn to comprehend people's situations. Place yourself in her shoes first before commenting.

Sentiments has no place in reality. Feel sorry for her all you can, but it doesn't change anything. Unless you want to locate her and help her with money or a better job. But then again all you people do in this country is pretend to be concerned while actually doing nothing to remedy the situation
