Listen Tinubu is already made. He is fighting for Nigeria, you all will know the details later.

You know nothing about hunger for money and power. It's insatiable...only God can satisfy. And Tinubu obviously is not a man of God.

Stop lying. What Dangote asked for is local crude supply and a ban on import of petroleum products especially diesel and kerosene which have no subsidy. This is information available in the public space na. Haba!!

So because Tinubu's nephew Wale is the owner of Oando which took over NNPC, they now want to squeeze the life out of Dangote. This won't play well for the nation, if this can be done to Africa's richest man, in his home country, what then will happen to foreign firms.

What was the year 1929 in the USA and the year 1931 in Germany and England if not a giant breakdown? The working class was not prepared for this. It did not have a Lenin, who awaited and worked towards such a moment. Rather, for decades it heard from Hilferding and Helene Bauer that a breakdown was impossible. So, if you did a job for one of the masses, and he paid you half of what you quoted, and asked you to forget the rest because he knows you have the masses at heart, not like tinubu who wants votes, or dangote who wants money.....you would accept his argument, and take half your money

You know you would be out of money, and out of a business if you did that for the masses.

Or you would, to ensure you have enough money to even live...be like Dangote.

I don't like dangote ,myself, but I know that businesses needs to make profits.

But then again, that is trash to you.

cheesy

Lol... Abeg o I don't dislike dangote, he didn't do anything to me. I don't like him either, he didn't do anything for me.

I'm just reacting to the part you talked about government employing delay tactics because fuel price would be increased for the masses.

You didn't specify, so I wrongly interpreted as being the government looking out for us. Now you've clarified it's for votes.

I'd add that in addition to votes, there are personal and corrupt based reasons for the delay tactics, if it will be called that.

Nigeria cannot supply Dangote more than 200,000 crude oil per day out of about 1.6 million barrels she can currently produce unless the Government wanted to break some contracts. Nigerian government had been borrowing so huge for about 30 years and more critical since about 20 years ago. The agreement was to pay with crude. When IOC's have taken their own crude to service and pay back our debts which is about 1.2 million barrels per day. The rest 300,000 barrels per day will be shared between modular refineries and Dangote. The 300,000 barrels meant to be shared had been sold upfront till October 2424 by Buhari government and the money had been spent
NNPC. and government had been keeping this secret for so long especially the huge some Buhari government borrowed from across the world.
Tinubu who stupidly bragged that his government will not borrow a kobo end up borrowing when it is clear to him that there is no money to pay workers
SO NIGERIA ECONOMY HAD BEEN MORTGAGED FOR AT LEAST THE PAST 20 YEARS. Now Dangote too had to bear the brunt because he benefited from loan windfall. THE RICH ALSO CRY

Start your own refinery and cement factories and ask for waivers. Many of You are just full of envy and jealousy. Your jealousy should not blind You to the economic benefits of Dangote's businesses:employment for many Nigerians, taxes to federal and state governments, strenghtening the naira through his import substitution efforts etc Meanwhile the NNPC people attacking Dangote should tell us why all the government owned refineries are not working after billions of dollars have been spent on them.

It be like we don get emergency lovers of everything for Nigeria oo

Between Dangote and FG, who should Nigerians be supporting? Dangote is not the only business man in Nigeria to have been granted some unnecessary waivers. Those must be rectified.

Since those policies have been favouring him, we didn't hear peem

Govt can pay with crude. They just want the dollars. Let’s look inward for solutions
nairalanda1:
Basic problem is, the government does not want to remove subsidy.

If Dangote refinery comes on line, it means that fuel would be sold at a high price of over N1000 for it to work well. The government knows that, hence the delay tactics.

Also, those who benefit from the importation of refined products and the subsidy money would lose out. The winners would be Dangote and other domestic refineries that are coming up.

The truth is, most Nigerians prefer cheap fuel, most of the elite prefer the subsidy mechansim and imports to continue. Their interests coincide. The result is that we never ever get to domestic refining.

All because of cheap fuel.

This is really bad for Nigeria and the economy.

Things might get so worse for Nigeria if Tinubu does not take decisive actions to calm things down.

No matter the accusation against Dangote, it is still far far better than reallying on foreign products and foreigners.

Your Tinubu is involved in the oil racketeering and petroleum imports... continue waiting for him to allow Dangote refinery flourish.

I don't know why you people keep calling him a monopoly, when BUA and Honeywell are direct competitors and Dangote never stopped anyone from investing in any of the segments he dominates. Having larger market share is not monopoly.

learn to see petrol as a commodity we have underneath our soil, and not a commodity we buy from Saudi. Unless you see from this lens, you won't recognise the decay in the system. Subsidy removal is a menace.

We import crude oil because in the 1970's we made the decision to subsidise the price of refined products...which had the lovely side effect of making refining unprofitable...and thus our domestic refining capacity was damaged, so we had to import.

And since most of us want the fuel to be cheap, we subsidise the imported stuff, and pay high prices for it...meaning that we lose forex, and have a knock on effect on our economy

IN 1987, we refined 400000 bpd at home, by 2019 it was 6200. IN Venezuela, their largest refinery went from refining 900000bpd to less than 100000bpd over the same period. Both NIgeria and venezuela do subsides.

At the end, things need a profit to run. NO profit, problems result.

But they're individuals that are benefitting massively from the importation

Just like they say, it is turn by turn..

I remember when Obj withdrew Ibeto cement license and dangote cement rose in popularity because Ibeto covered most of the SE, SS and some SW and these are the region with the most new construction.. so , somehow ibeto was squeezed out of the game..

During ObJ tenure, once Dangote sugar refinery was almost complete.. obasanjo banned importation of sugar.. then later ban this and that because it was alleged dangote was involved in those business enterprises...

Dangote wants it to continue like that
