Instead of looking to crash petroleum price using the refineries we have on ground and on which billions of dollars had already been invested in without returns, this is the new focus- spending yet another billions. Monies we all know will be diverted at the end of the day

Step in the right direction? Since three years, have you seen or ask where the CNG buses are??

Nigerian politicians are too lucky, the country is blessed with overwhelming number of dumb citizens

I tell you!

I keep saying it that the problem is not the leaders, but the dumb majority who put them there and let them remain there.

Pls why can't they use the 900bn to repair our refineries and make it up to date ,instead of going to establish another sector that will be hard for you to maintain in the future.. repair the refinery and repair everything about the crude oil sector from private sector to government sector, balance the equation that is between them.....start with that first ....at least if your administration can solve that , Nigerians will have something to say about tenure than bringing CNG buses that will be down in the nearest future due to lack of maintenance and supply of gases.

But how come I don’t hear about this CNG in developed countries? They seem more focused on electric vehicles, is there something they know about CNG they are not telling us 🤨

Well said ,if the price of LPG gas can be 1200 now then there is every certainty that the CNG too will be high as soon as the demand is much...this is not solving any problem of the national issues Nigerians are facing.
All am just seeing about this administration is that he too wants his name to be said about that he tinubu was the one who brought CNG to Nigeria for mass usage same way it's been said about OBANSANJO for bringing GSM network....the thing all this our leaders are selfish ,,,they are not leaders ,they are not problem solvers ,they are just self centred and seek glory for themselves and not Glory for Nigeria to be a better and peaceful nation.

When CNG becomes the new normal, it'll be increased to about ₦2000 per kg. Na Naija.

Our problem now is food and security not cng after all the moment it launches the price of cng will skyrocket as usual but that is not the agenda here the fact that most of the money for the project will land in someone's pocket

In a few years watch how this CNG project would be unravelled as a means of corruption. Again you will see how the price of CNG will go higher than petrol and diesel. Then they will tell you it's only the e rich CNG vehicles are meant for. Think before converting your vehicle. Nigeria politicians are evil.... many experience to learn from.

This is a great move by the FG! Investing in CNG vehicle conversion will not only boost our economy but also help in reducing pollution.
Let's support this initiative for a cleaner and greener Nigeria.

Ask yourself ... if it's a step in the right direction ... why don't they start with themselves? The one making the speech... is any of the vehicles in his fleet running on CNG? Why not convert the Government vehicles to CNG? It is never the purpose of a government to provide such for its citizens but instead provide infrastructure... in this case ...fixing the deplorable roads. If they are serious about cars being fueled with CNG then they should pass a bill that all car assembly plants locally should be producing CNG cars only from 2027 or whenever. This is simply another avenue to loot. Each man in charge of a government sector is coming up with a "we will" financial plan for personal gains.

If an oil producing nation that solely depend on crude export to survive is taking this step, I don't know the message that we're sending to the world or buyers of our crude.

I feel we should act like Saudi, Russia, Qatar, Venezuela, etc. They don't have any message than to go to COP conferences and discourage a shift from fossil oil.

Trust me, when we switch to CNG, the price will go up again as a results of increase in demand. Fuel is available for Algerians and Libyans at cheap rate because they refine in their country. But in Nigeria, when we have one problem, we create another one out of it.

First.....our population is quite large unlike those countries you mentioned.

Secondly....cng is not regulated on international market. This is a domestic affair. Except the government want to be increasing the price themselves.

As individual lawmakers, what I should worry more about the impact i make in your constituency, state and country as well as the kind of image i build for myselves. With such array of accomplished your men and women educated from the best institutions in the world, I will like to see presidents of Nigeria emerge from this chamber, As I take my seat, let me make a few suggestions
for finances of the National Assembly, we must also understand that some of the choices members make tar this critical arm of government. Voting billions of Naira to order for new cars at a time the economy is going through a recession and majority of Nigerians experience difficult times, has not helped the country rather invest this money of industry machine because industry is the bedrock of developed any meaningful country.
Around the world, the legislature is generally the least rated of all arms of government and national institutions. Survey figures compiled by the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA) which was subsequently reproduced in the IPU’s publication on parliament and democracy in the 21st century revealed that, across the world, parliaments were less trusted than other institutions of government.
Interestingly, that has been the pattern from the past to the present.
In the particular case of our country, you make all the difference because whenever civil rule was interrupted in the past by the military, the only arm of government that was usually dismantled was the parliament. That is no surprise because this is the only institution where representatives are elected to discuss the needs of citizens, forge national policies and resolve whatever conflicts arise within society through dialogue and compromise.
