MTN Disconnects Thousands Of Customers, Causing Sadness Among Nigerians by Ucheboy11(m): 7:57am On Jul 29
On the microblogging platform X, Nigerians are annoyed at MTN for reportedly disconnecting their SIM cards without consent.

This action falls under a directive that network operators implement across the industry, mandating that they refuse service to subscribers whose lines are not connected to their NIN.

The deadline for linking a SIM card with NIN expired on February 28. MTN reported earlier this year that it had deactivated 4.2 million connections.
