I tend to agree with seunmsg...Nigeria's oil production is still not quite stable, and a lot of our crude has already been promised so to speak...but we would see if the 450000 is available really.

But your govt should not set prices for fuel like it is doing now...it is damaging our economy, and indirectly preventing more investment in crude oil exploration.

I doubt if NNPC has 450,000 barrels that they can give to Dangote daily. We barely produce about 1.7 million barrels daily now. By the time IOCs take their share, NNPP will be struggling to have enough to give to those they have collected money from.

Ye don't have to mock people...this is not the playground.

But at the end, the main elephant in the room is...are we producing enough for even the domestic consumption. Oil production in Nigeria is darn too too problematic...oil theft is a serious issue, among other things.

You better pray and hope the government can meet the needs, otherwise DANGOTE would be forced to import crude more often.

Dangote should enjoy while it lasts. This policy favouring him may swing the other way in the near future.

Now, this is commendable from the President, let's see how Dangote reciprocate this gesture with the price of his Refinery produce to the Nigerian masses who stood firmly behind him. I hope he won't be his usual greedy self like we're experiencing with his cement.

The problem is beyond the currency of sale. If NNPC will sell only 4 four cargoes to dangote as against the needed 15, it means he will source the balance from other countries. Even though this may be a temporary arrangement till our oil production improves or till when we are done fulfilling our obligation to those we sold our crude to on forward contract, there is still a shortfall of 11 cargoes in the short term that will ultimately affect pricing despite hedging the crude sale agreement.

Again, how much will Dangote sell PMS to marketers? Or, will NNPC buy PMS directly from Dangote and then sell to marketers at a reduce price to maintain the current pump price? A lot still have to be decided to make this Dangote refinery very beneficial to Nigerians.

This should have been done a long time ago. Selling Nigerian crude to Nigerian refineries in dollars is a dumb policy.
Any wonder why all the refineries are dead.
