MTN miscalculated.
I agree they have warned Nigerians repeatedly to update their SIM records, but disconnecting people's line is ill-timed. Nigerians are hungry at the moment. And a hungry man is an angry man.

August 1 is the date and I know most of these protesters would model their protest on this rubbish being displayed at Festac

Peaceful protest is a mirage to most Nigerians

But I'm glad the security personnel will be on ground to handle things from August 1 onward

This one na MTN property

What if MTN Nigeria use this as an excuse to shutdown for 15 days ?
What if this is a bait to increase their tariff? Or people destroying the properties think MTN will run at lost ?

Let exercise our rights with sense.

MTN wants to bring trouble to itself The atmosphere is already tensed, why increase people's frustration the more? Whoever gave them the directive to embark on these massive disconnections at this time made a very big mistake

The problem is MTN barred even those that have link their sim for long.

A government that assembles angry Nigerians in the guise of NIN then goes further to frustrate them with poor networks in linking the sim cards thereby distorting their means of vital communication is surely asking for protests.
Mtn took a big risk before rescinding their part of the action.

You can say that again. A very unwise decision, This could even hasten up the protest and make it violent.

Wrong timing by MTN

Now, people will term the disconnection a calculated attempt by the FG to silence the protest online.

I’m seeing Bosun Tijani as an IT professional without clue to governance structure and administration. Same guy that was forming IT guru/genius prior to becoming minister.

That festac na SE denominated area
Later they will say Ibos are not protesting. You can even tell from their accent. cheesy
You have started that Nonsense and very stoopid politics of divide and rule.
Why will a Tele communication company cut communication at a time like this.
Even those who have registered?

They are suppose to be cut off since April, but the NCC extended the deadline. And you're here making it seem as if they were blocked for no genuine reason.

Very soon, some of you will start killing and claim it's because of a time like this you're doing it.
