Imagine... What an effrontery. 100million... Yes so are you saying Nigeria's is not having enough?

You much be silly and absent minded...

I never said Nigerian govt should give her citizens money. I only sighted an example of how rich we are...

slowpoke ... Mind you, Dubai also depends on oil and look at where they are.

If UAE is as populated as Nigeria, they'll be as poor as we are. Maybe you don't know our national budget is just a paltry sum of 150k per head annually.
Now ask yourself if someone earning 150k a year is anywhere near a comfortable man?
You made an outrageous claim that the country is rich enough to give each citizen 1m, citing our national budget. I'm telling you the government will need more than 3x our current budget to even try for half our population.
It's a bum that'll think 30trillion naira is a big money for a population of 200million people.

which statistics the one conducted in nigeria which is very inaccurate or what? Yes the north is battling with insecurity which caused many economical damages to rural population boko haram In North East and bandits in North West, but to say that northerners are not productive at total is untrue

Go and check what your region is generating into federal government account.

Very poor IGR

Your monthly allocations from the federation is way much higher that what you guys are generating per month.

What a shame, Southern regions are the ones bearing the brunt.

You guys should just leave us alone, go your own way, we should also go our own way.

We don't want one Nigeria with you people. Go oooooo and never return.

My point still stands. The north is not suffering because of population, but leadership. Even that over population is a lie, if we consider your point that a few number of men marry the women who are limited in number; therefore, leaving a larger number of men without partners. That then means that, even if these men with multiply wives give birth to 20 children with their multiple women, the figures will tally if these same women were distributed to the unmarried men and they gave birth to 3 to 5 children as their Southern partners who are largely monogamous birth. We will likely arrive at the same figures, when also we factor into the more infant death rate as compared to the south.
That aside. Population is not the problem. If food is all that is needed to keep us alive and healthy, then that food is very easy to source if we consider the technology available that can do that. It will only become a problem if they are equally dreaming to drum up money to build skyscrappers, and trying explore space, e.g to go to plannet mars. But even that, if the will is there, then it is possible.

While you're correct that the figures will tally if the polygamous men give birth to many children or those same wives are distributed among a few men, the problem is the 3-5 children. Nigeria's fertility rate is 6.5. That is unsustainable in a country with high rates of poverty, low productivity and insecurity. If Nigeria had a small population like Qatar or Saudi Arabia then it would be rich off the oil wealth.

Leadership is a problem but so is overpopulation. Food may keep people alive but it does not improve the quality of life. Why aim for a massive unhappy population instead of aiming for a sustainable and happy population albeit a smaller one? If you think Nigeria will become like China with a large population it won't happen. China underwent significant reforms that allowed them to develop their country. It included multiple genocides, assimilation and land reforms. Historically, the Han Chinese conquered the entire country and forcibly assimilated everyone. They burnt all the books and got rid of all other languages besides mandarin. After ww2 Mao instituted several land reforms which took all private property and made it state owned, redistributed land to the peasants as rental land to farm on, allocated land for factories, killed all dissidents and created a state driven socio-capitalistic economy. Will the Igbos, the Yorubas, the Hausas and the Fulani give up their ethnic identities? Their languages? Their private property and traditional practices to create China like reforms in Nigeria? If Nigeria cant do what china did but just breeds a large population it will be the world Capital of poverty and recruitment for extremist groups not the China of Africa.
