Go for medical diagnosis.

May not be the disease itself but a sign of an underlying terminal disease in his body.
Diseases like HIV/AIDS Or Maybe immune response syndromes like Stevens-johnsons syndrome and Toxic epidermal necrolysis show this symptom.
May also be a reaction to certain Drugs and body creams.
A visit to a doctor or hospital is the only advice anyone can give.
