Senate President Godswill Akpabio has accused the candidates who lost out in the 2023 presidential election of sponsoring the planned nationwide protest.

He spoke on Monday at the State House, Abuja, after he witnessed President Bola Tinubu’s signing of the new minimum wage bill into law.

Some individuals & organisations in the country have planned a nationwide protest over the hardship occasioned by the economic policies of the Tinubu administration.

The senate president however, said those who lost the election thought they could use the protest to claim the mandate through the back door.

People who probably do not have their fortunes in the 2023 election are thinking they can come through the back door & that will amount to anarchy,” Mr Akpabio said.

He cautioned the intended protesters to ignore damaging properties. “Any destruction of any property will cost Nigeria money. We don’t have the money. Instead let’s put the money into developing you & developing your environs instead of going to rebuild”.

“Every food item that is coming in now will come in without anything like a restaurant solution. There are no restrictions; bring in food because Nigerians need to eat. And then at the same time, most things are coming in with a lot of waivers.
Nigeria boarders suddenly come into my mind.

Tag it the way u want. Is ur problem. If u do right thing, no one will protest. U are spending extravagantly, yet u want them to die of hunger and quite. Everyone has a right to protest, as u guy did so 2012

We all know he is speaking the truth without sugarcoating it. Obidient Ipob members are at the forefront of this protest n they have every right to protest, the question is do other Nigerians want to protest along with them, if so why ?

If Tinubu who most Nigerians voted decide to be foolish doing thing to hurt those that voted him increase fuel prices electricity custom duties bank charges without any succour that benefits Nigeria he should enjoy the chaos he created with his own hand simple as A B C

But that is the truth, it okay for you to get angry at the truth though.

Dear Akpabio,
Actually, the real "election losers" somehow have gotten to power with their ill-gotten wealth.
From buying the conscience of delegates/aspirants during the party's convention, to buying the conscience of the electoral umpire, as well as the judiciary.
You mortgage the future of helpless Nigerians and unborn generations just to satisfy your vanities, using the scam called renewed hope to impoverish them, yet expect everyone to keep mute.
