John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

*Message*

What is love without giving? God, being the Loving Being He is, gave Himself in Christ Jesus, a description of both the expression and the gift of His love. He can do without His creatures since He is All-powerful. However, love made Him subject Himself to feel for the plight of our fallen world, and much more, to take a drastic sacrificial step to make things right again - He gave the most precious thing to give: His only begotten Son.

*Now, "Whoever believes in Him" describes the recipient of God’s love. There is the Almighty Loving God who is giving His love to the undeserving sinner, and the sinner is expected to reciprocate His love by embracing Him. While God loves the world, the world does not receive or benefit from that love until it believes in Jesus.*

Believing in Jesus is not about intellectual awareness of this reality, but you must practically trust and cling to Him in submission. You give him the life you used to know and take His new life (the God kind of life Man lost after the Fall In Eden). Thus, you become a new creation through faith in Christ Jesus.

Help me dear Lord to never lose sight of Your great love for me.
