Hey everyone,

I wanted to share some exciting news that might be a game-changer for those of us who didn’t do so well in the 2024 UTME. The University of Ibadan (UI) is offering a lifeline through its open distance e-learning programs!

Prof. Babatunde Omobowale, the Director of the Distance Learning Centre, recently announced that UI is giving a great opportunity to candidates who either couldn’t sit for the UTME or scored below the cut-off mark of 200. This is a huge relief for anyone in that situation!

Starting September 2, UI’s Distance Learning Centre will be officially open, offering a super flexible and affordable way to get a degree. The best part? You can join live lectures from anywhere—whether you’re at home, at work, or on the go—and still get a real, authentic learning experience.

UI is committed to making quality education accessible, and the cost is pretty manageable too. You only need to pay N50,000 to register and participate in all the course activities, and you can pay the rest before your exams.

If you scored below 200 or didn’t take the UTME at all, you can still enroll in any of the university’s undergraduate programs through the ODeL mode. They offer courses like BSc Computer Science, BSc Economics, BSc Sociology, BSc Psychology, BSc Political Science, BA Communications and Language Arts, Bachelor of Social Work, and Bachelor of Nursing Science, just to name a few.

And if you’re thinking of transferring from another university, UI has got you covered too! They welcome inter-university transfers into their ODeL programs. All you need to do is send in your letter of interest and your current transcripts from any NUC-accredited program, whether you’re at a private or public university.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to keep their academic journey on track despite the UTME results. So if this applies to you, definitely consider taking advantage of it!
