Protest In Lagos: Banks, Eateries, Fuel Stations, Others Under Lock And Key by ogododo: 9:19am On Aug 01
As the August 1st nationwide protest commenced today, Thursday, the roads and streets of Lagos are presently deserted as armed security personnel take strategic positions across the metropolis.

Checks by Vanguard as of 7 am, witnessed special security personnel, tagged: CP Tactical Squad, Lagos State Police Command, stationed at Egbeda Bus Stop, monitoring development.

The roads are virtually empty as only commercial buses, popularly called Danfo could be seen operating.

The ever-busy Bus Rapid Transit, BRT terminals were empty as there were no buses in sight while passengers that dared to go out, scuttled to board Danfos.

A number of banks, eateries, fuel stations, superstores, and other business enterprises were seen under lock and key.

Also some miscreants were seen on major roads like: Ikotun, Egbeda, Dopemu, Ikeja, Ojota, gisting and drinking alcoholic stuff and smoking.

As of 7.30 am, there was no sign of likely protest as protesters could not be seen in sight but armed special task force, Rapid Response Squad men were in large numbers across the metropolis.

Police helicopter was seen on surveillance operating across the metropolis.

Armoured Personnel carriers, APC vehicles, and vans were seen stationed at strategic points at Gani Fawenhimi Freedom Park as well as Peace Park, Ojota area.

Hurray, Lagos is sitting at home, congratulations cheesy

What you force on others will one day come round to afflict you. What you decided to exploit and used to destroy the economy of the east side will one day come and live in your own side.

Nigerians and their protest wahala.

See as everywhere dey lock up because of small hardship. Instead of people to reason and strategize, they just want to go on the streets and disturb the peace.

Eateries and banks now suffering because of this senseless protest. What do they think they will achieve? Just adding more fuel to the fire of hardship.

This is not the time for protests; it’s time for solutions. But no, our people would rather shout and destroy instead of sitting down to plan how to navigate this difficult period. Na so dem go dey lock everywhere down.

Honestly, this protest is just another distraction, and the government will just sit back and watch as the noise continues. Who is really benefitting from all this chaos? Not the average Nigerian, that’s for sure.

Na wa o. Where are the so-called leaders when their people dey suffer? All these protests, and nothing to show for it.

We just dey shout and lock everything down like that will change our situation. Instead of looking for solutions, we just dey turn ourselves to wailing wailers.

The truth is any protest, uprising or revolution in Nigeria without the backing and support of Igbos will be a flop and you know why?

Igbos are the only tribe in Nigeria that have the guts of a lion to challenge any government or authority anywhere in Nigeria; be it in the North or South.

That is why Tinubu's government were so worried about Igbos joining the protest that they had to use reverse-psychology to blame Igbos for being the one planning the protest because of Peter Obi because they know that if they succeed in making Igbos not to join the protest, then the protest will fail and it has already failed.

No other Nigerian tribe have the guts or liver to protest massively outside their region except Igbos. This is what makes Igbos the Lion of Nigeria.

But Igbos did not join the protest because of Tinubu and his supporters noise and accusation, Igbos decided not to join the protest because Igbos have seen the Nigeria's situation is irredeemable, so I will advice every Nigerian to face his or her individual hustle until God help you and your family to succeed.

Forget about Nigeria ever becoming a working developed country that makes life easy for all Nigerians, it's not possible because Nigeria as a country is built on the wrong foundation.

For Nigeria to ever work, the foundation must be destroyed completely and Nigerians of today don't have the guts to destroy the foundation and the Igbos that would have helped them to destroy the foundation to build a new improved foundation are already tired and lost interest in the Nigerian project.

It is better to be safe than sorry

The adviser to Mr President are doing a very terrible job

You removed subsidy from everything because you want to practise westerners but you can't live like westerner, you can't provide basic amenities like westerners

It's disheartening that Mr President knows what's right but choose to otherwise

Nigerians are suffering due to his wrong policies
