“They came to deceive us with N5,000, but we rejected it. We don’t need their money. We will continue to protest. This is our nation,” said a protester.

By Ahmed Oluwasanjo

#EndBadGovernance protesters have returned to the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park in Ojota after rejecting N5,000 offered to many would-be demonstrators not to return to the park on Monday.

With Sanwo-Olu is a thief” chorus in the background, a protester speaking with a megaphone said in a video posted on X on Monday. “Make price of garri come down. They came to deceive us with N5,000, but we rejected it. We don’t need their money. We will continue to protest. This is our nation.”

Several Lagos residents returned to the streets 24 hours after President Bola Tinubu’s nationwide broadcast calling for the end of the protests.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had warned Lagos residents on Sunday to be wary of divisiveness.

“Now it is fit and proper to, once again, warn our citizens to be very vigilant. Those who seek to divide us are yet to give up,” said Mr Sanwo-Olu.

Everything about Tinubu and APC is founded on lies and deception.

Even Tinubu knowing that Buhari was a disaster, but went ahead to package him for Nigerians and hailed him for 4+4yrs, just to have his own turn is the height of deception.

Rented crowds entered the dictionary of Nigerian politics when APC came into power. Those people are a curse to this country.

The bolded is the reason why I dislike Tinubu. Walahi, take it or leave it, he's suffering for the mess Buhari did before he left office. Plus, his approach to fuel subsidy removal wasn't right which is the genesis of our wahala today.

How on earth can you assume office from day one and announce the removal of subsidy on fuel without any refinery working and no other plan in place to reduce the effect?

No matter how bad Dangote might be, why can't you support him and allow his project on oil to work at this critical time knowing fully well it can help with the situation of things on ground? Imagine Dangote dey inport crude to refine while we dey produce crude to sale am out.

N5,000 or not, these protesters are just wasting their time.

Is it not clear that shouting in the streets won't change anything? They should channel that energy into something productive instead of chanting and rejecting money like it's a badge of honor. Nigeria needs real solutions, not noise.

These Ojota protesters are just looking for attention. Rejecting N5,000 is foolishness when they could have used that money to better their situation. They should focus on real solutions instead of playing the victim.

Dear Sycophants.

On August 29 2023, Tinubu’s government promised to create 50 million jobs and revive the economy.

This is almost one year. How far with your messiah’s plan?

Where is the economic revival? Where are the jobs?

Improvement from election time "collect and vote". This last election all of the cake went to thugs and hooligans who forced them to vote whoever paid them.

Stop to Delude Yourself and be Giving the glory to Yorubas/South West. 😏😕

Lagos is made up of Igbos, Hausas, Yorubas, Efiks, Urhobos, Ijaws, Idomas, Tivs, etc.
So meaning the Kudos CAN'T be given to one Tribe.🙂

BTW, Peter Obi/LP won Lagos in the Last Election, so It shows you that It is these SENSIBLE Nigerians that you Praise, that voted him.😊😎

FOOLS voted Tinibu, whom I know you must have also voted for.😏☹️☹️
