I don't think such can happen in a country like Nigeria in 21st century..
Bangladesh is almost an homogeneous country, same can't be said of Nigeria..
is because no ethnicity division from them thru politicians unlike Nigeria. If u see crowd moving thru protest, u go no say they are in one voice. Millions of people matching. How many soldiers and police go kill.

Bangladesh is 99% Bengali and 92% Muslim. It's an homogeneous country.

What we are seeing in Nigerian politics is cold tribal war.

I said it earlier today. It's a full-blown military takeover when Al-Jazeera and other major news networks broke the news. Bangladesh has had series of very bad military dictatorships from the past which led to Bangladeshi citizens fleeing abroad (including to Nigeria back in the day) for greener pastures. History seems to repeat itself because younger generation of humans don't learn from the bitter lessons of the past. Democracy remains the best bet for freedom of speech and creative economic development.

We'll see how things pan out down the road

This is the result of bad governance, I hope our president will learn from this and do the right thing.

All I see in Nigeria today from politicians is complete lack of respect for the people, pervasive corruption and arrogance among the political class.

I don't support violent protest and looting, protesters should be peaceful while expressing their grievances

If the army takes over in NIgeria, just know that after the reggae comes the blues.

I have told people under three if not four civillan regimes, this one included, that wishing for army to come back is like wishing for wahala.

What has happened in Bangladesh is that the oppositon has used violence to achieve its aim. Not moblilzation, not people power, violence , so that at the end the army would be forced to intervene and ...thus the principle of the wise old elder once saying...if you do not lose, you win.

Both sides in Bangladesh's political diarchy are alike. Now one has used the army to strike down its opponent

Anyway, I know in five years time, dem go begin cry

Here in Nigeria, assuming peter obi won and some agbado came and said that army should intervene.....that agbado should be jailed for treason. Same thing for any one calling for the overthrow of any democratically elected government. If you cannot win...form alliances, and get ready for the next election

Because army rule...is very ruthless rule

(Abeg make no one quote me to tell me army built road. The same road that fell apart when they were still in power. Army built hospital...same hospital that was a mess by 1999. Abeg. I was there I saw the mess)

Modified

Remember how corrupt first republic was. Then came five majors...and voila the corruption dissapeared...until people woke up and saw that their leaders were dead, and started reading tribal issues into the thing. Then army rule turned out to be civillan rule of corruption with gun wielding men doing the talking. You don't fight with de man that holds a gun.

Hmmm! I hope the Bengalis do not regret their actions. Soldiers aren't trained to lead civilians. They are not democrats. They rule by decree and do not believe in human rights. I just hope for their sake that the new leader doesn't cultivate a taste for power and decide to stay.

I don't think you people understand what you are asking for.
I hope you know Nigerian military officers are as corrupt and incompetent as politicians.
Your last president was an ex-military General.

The last thing this country needs is another period of backward military government.
What is happening in Bangladesh is a people led revolution not a military coup.

The tone of their military shows they are subordinate to the protesting students.

That is very different from a hostile military takeover.

That is something people do not know.

It is because civilian rule took over at the time internet was still very niche in Nigeria....most parts of Nigeria did not have an internet cafe until 2001/2, and home internet did not come until 2008, browsing on phone became more common after 2010....that is why we do not know how the army would have run the internet if it was like this under them

This is what some people want for Nigeria in disguise of protest.

You lose election, you no wan rest… Terrible losers

Don’t get me wrong, there are different types of protesters, those who genuinely came to protest for a better government

And another that have a hidden agenda of anarchy, criminal intents, chaos and violence.

Their case is what Yoruba say, kaka ki eku ma je sese, o ma fi se awada

It is like the story of the two women who were fighting for a child custody. They went to the king and the king said they should bring him a sword so he can divide the child into two. Then one of the women agreed that the child be killed and divided while the other said rather than spear the child, they should spare the child and give to the other woman so the child can live.

That is exactly how this demons with fangs like cobras from the darkest pit of hell operate, they will pretend they don’t want protest but are everywhere fanning the flames of chaos and dancing like a gorilla on heat to every news of anarchy and chaos.
But like we always say, their mind won’t touch ground. Okan wan o ni bale

Agbaya Broz , U go explain tire
