Making use of online banking and other payments requires the use of common sense and is accompanied by precautions. We suggest that you verify each payment prior to making it and to follow these guidelines to protect yourself:

Be cautious of strangers that make contact with you. If you are not familiar with someone who contact you, keep an eye on them. It is important to be cautious when they ask you to click on links or URLs within emails or other emails. If they do appear to be aware of financial and personal details about your personal and financial information, the person that is trying to contact you may remain a fraudster that has been able to find those information on the internet.

Don't send money to someone who is not part of your circle. Venmo is recommended for transfers that are small in size to close family and friends. If you don't have a good relationship with someone or not otherwise, you shouldn't participate in Venmo transactions with them.

Avoid using Venmo to receive payments for services or goods. If you are looking to pay for something, make it through the credit card you use to fund your bank account instead of Venmo. Although Venmo is considered to be a fairly safe option, it's more difficult to find fraudsters who make use of it, particularly when they have stole someone else's information.

Never click on any link in your message or text. If you are sent a email with a link in it to click, you'll be safe by not clicking on the link. If the message appears like it's coming from Venmo however, there's the possibility that you're being swindled by a fraud.

If there's something unusual that happens you should contact the Venmo customer support immediately. When you're trying to contact them regarding theft of credit cards or suspicious messages, it's best to contact Venmo support earlier instead of later. Knowing if banks reimburse scammed cash is a helpful idea that may prove helpful even if you've never had a scam.

Don't give your mobile to anyone who isn't your friend. It takes only just a couple of seconds to sign in with Venmo and to transfer funds into an account in another, so do not hand over your phone to anyone who you do not know.

To ensure you do not become a victim to the Venmo fraud, it is important to be sure that your device that you use Venmo on is secured. Making sure your devices are secure can also improve overall security. venmo login
