Emmanuel Umeji is a Nigerian speculative poet-author, proser, CNF and short-story writer, debater, scientist, typesetter, reader, feminist, artist and sapiosexual.
He once served as the 57th President of the reputable Art & Literary Club of Father O'Connell Science College, his high school. He is the 1st runner-up winner for the FOSA Poetry Contest in 2019, 3rd place winner of HIASFEST 2023 Nigeria Prize for Teen Authors (poetry category), & a five-time debate award-holder— including a silver medal for the maiden edition of Engineer Elizabeth J. Eterigho S.T.E.M Debate Championship, a plaque for the Niger State Ministry of Education Award for Outstanding Debaters, 2022 Democracy Day Anniversary of Presidents Inter-Senior Secondary Schools Debate Championship stemmed from President’s School Debate Nigeria, El-Amin Students Debate Championship, 2018. His team won the 1st place in the NANISS Debate Championship with a plaque. He is a one-time qualifier for the 5th Edition of the NNPC Science Quiz competition, and team winner of the 2022 QASAS Quiz Competition.

He is a joint winner of the Poet in Nigeria 10-Day Poetry Challenge (July 2024), shortlisted for Splendours of Dawn Poetry Prize (May and July 2024) and Arting Arena Poetry Chapbook Prize, 2024. He is an alumnus of The Creative Writers Workshop. He is also a mentor at the Hilltop Creative Arts Foundation and a member of the Authors Only Collective founded by Shannon.
