I don't know who started this in Nigeria, but I'm actually not a fan of it. When a lady gives birth, you'll see lots of family members and friends celebrating, but one unusual thing is where they start pouring powder on themselves, including passersby. One bitter experience I had was a certain time the wife of someone closer to me put to birth. I was heading somewhere when I decided to stop by and congratulate them. Suddenly, a self-acclaimed, happiest person poured powder on my clothes, including my head. I can't imagine the look on my face. I just went inside to congratulate them and went back home.
