In a significant move to empower the youth of Kwara South, Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru, the Deputy Leader of the Nigeria Senate and representative of Kwara South Senatorial District, has commenced plans to sponsor 350 children in his district for digital skills training.

The training will take place at the One Innovation Hub Offa (ONEIH) in Offa, Kwara State.

These beneficiaries will be selected from the seven local government areas of Kwara South, providing an equal opportunity for youth across the district to acquire vital ICT skills. The announcement was made by Senator Ashiru on August 10, 2024, via his social media platforms.

In his announcement, Senator Ashiru expressed his admiration for the facilities and programmes at the Offa and Environs Innovation Hub (ONIEH), which he visited earlier this year.

He stated: "I was marveled by the remarkable accomplishments of Offa and Environs Innovation Hub (ONIEH) when I visited at the beginning of the year. Impressed by their infrastructures and seasoned curriculum, I promised to sponsor 350 Kwara South youths on ICT and Digital Empowerment. His visit on January 16, 2024, to ONEIH, ONEIH-Kola Balogun Technology Center (O-KBTC), and the under-development ONEIH-Sports Academy at the Offa Industrial Park, further reinforced his belief in the potential of these institutions to drive technological advancement and youth empowerment in the region.
