Formerly known as National Theatre 🎭.

Today, I inspected the ongoing renovations at the newly refurbished Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts in Iganmu, Lagos.

I am happy to announce that the Centre, previously known as the National Arts Theatre, is nearing completion and will soon be open to the public.

I would like to express my gratitude to the Bankers Committee and all stakeholders in the creative sector for their collaboration on this transformative project.

Upon completion, the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts will not only be for arts, tourism, and culture but will also provide a venue for the international community to convene for conferences and enjoy world-class performances.

This facility will serve as a premier destination, comparable to any world class conference center, with a unique infusion of arts and culture.

It was built by the federal government. It was handed over the the State Government to renovate and run as it was becoming abandoned

My family's 24hrs block factory was one of the subcontractors that supplied blocks, gravel and granite between 1976 and 1977 during the construction of the edifice, likewise that of the construction of FESTAC town, when contracts were awarded based on verifiable competency not where you come from.....no be today people utilized opportunities. cheesy cheesy cheesy

Pained hater. I am very sure, you and your likes have made a plan to burn the place during the failed protest hence you are still in severe pains.

He's not an APC hired thug...they're the one that disrupt protest and burn down places

Hmmmmm.....I couldn't but think how Oyinbo man would handle ordinary renovation work for us in this country. Dem use white man swear for us?

These are things NLC should be fighting for. We've got best of brains in the engineering sector but corruption won't allow us look inwards and employ our nationals.

I’m optimistic, if Lagos can work , even with the corruption that I’m sure still goes on in the state…

Nigeria go still work. It’s slow I agree, but it would eventually come together.

So help us God.

This your response is very silly. How can everything not be about food? Are u in this country at all?

Don't you know that feeding is the primary challenge of the masses?

Don't let me call you an idiot.
How can you suggest that I am too lazy to plant?

Is land free in Nigeria? Is it everyone that has a land or can afford one?

Your parents no train u well

I'm very sure most of those guys on the pix never lifted a pin in the ongoing renovation works...I'd rather want to see the craftsmen and artisans doing their thing.

My ish with the citing of this cultural centre is that just across the Costain _ eko bridge lies one of the most brutal slums in Lagos with very toxic and brackish water ruining through its canal where most of the hoodlums in that axis have converted to their toilets.
