Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix is set for an unexpected return to Chelsea, according to Mail Sport.

This development follows the collapse of a proposed transfer for his teammate, Samu Omorodion, to the Premier League club.

Chelsea and Atletico had agreed on a £34.5 million fee for Omorodion, but complications in finalizing the contract caused the deal to fall through. Atletico had planned to use the funds from Omorodion’s sale to help secure the signings of Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher and Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez. While the deals for Gallagher and Alvarez are still in progress, Atletico must sell players to balance their books.
