Omoyele Sowore, convener of #RevolutionNow Movement, has demanded the immediate dismissal of Nigeria's Sports Minister, John Owan Enoh, following Team Nigeria's disappointing performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

In a post on his X account on Monday, Sowore, a prominent human rights activist and former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), argued that firing Enoh would be the most effective way for the country to express its discontent with his handling of the sports ministry.

Sowore lambasted the minister for ‘preparing for failure’ during the Olympics, rather than success.

He pointed to the deplorable state of the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja as evidence of the minister's ineptitude, sarcastically noting that Nigeria's lack of investment in sports infrastructure is why the country couldn't even win a 'plastic spoon', let alone a single medal, at the Olympics.
Sowore's scathing critique follows Nigeria's dismal performance at the Olympics, where the country failed to secure any medals.

He wrote, “Any serious country would have fired the Nigerian Minister of Sports, John Owan Enoh @OwanEnoh, even before the #Paris2024 Olympics. The only thing he prepared for during the just-completed Olympics was failure.

Tobi Amusan is a world champion a three times diamond league winner.

She even ran a time of 12:46secs in the heat and slowed to 12:55secs in semi finals showing fatigue or lack of preparation.

She showed that she is struggling with timing her start as she had a really slow start at the semi finals.


Our basket ball team beat the Number 5 and number 6 ranked team only losing to No 1 and 2.

Our Football team spent a lot of time playing defense than attack and still managed to loose all three games.


The distance between first and Fifth is just 23 seconds. Preparation!
