Former Abia State Governor, not the present one, Abi which lagos LG chairman don do independent power project? You fit mention some tho, 55% of Abia state is off the National Grid For your information .

LegendHero:
Nice one. As it should be.

Most of the Lagos LGA chairman are doing perfectly well as some of them are executing projects that governors from other states dare not venture into.

I’m sure aura for aura, a LG chairman in Lagos has more project than Abia state governor.

Continue deceiving yourself, with the money Lagos is generating and the ones they are receiving from fg, they supposed to be competing with Dubai and Qatar. I know hatred for Igbos won't allow you to see this fact

Unless I see the criteria or formula that were used for this sharing, I will say this is pure favoritism! Does it mean that if someone from another region becomes the president, LGAs from that person's region will have the highest allocations? Let's call a spade what it should be called! All I see here is a president enriching his region at the expense of others.

Top 20 highest allocations go to Lagos State LGAs?? Haba mana!!!
some states are liability, they can't survive without F.G intervention... they're not bringing anything to the table.

Do you know the budget of New York(less populated than lagos) alone is bigger than Nigeria budget x 10

By the way,why is the best Governor in Nigeria in you people deluded brain ALEX OTTI still paying 18k minimum wage in a state of just 3million population? That one is not your problem?
New York state is not less populated than Lagos state, they are almost the same bro.

Do you have elected chairmen in Kwara State? Since the present governor came in he has not conducted LGA election? He only give those he appointed as CTC stipend he wishes. Now he has even dissolved them, the activity of LGA is paralyzed presently in Kwara State.

A project like doing interlocking road. Is interlocking road, a road that can last?

This is why I some blame the brain of some of you that often compare the administration of Lagos to other states. Lagos earn big in everything, aside the fat IGR to the state and LGA. A state like Anambra doesn't earn 1/3 of what is accrue to Lagos State but some people doesn't apply Common sense.
If not wastefulness, Lagos by now should have been on the same strata with Dubai. It never took Dubai 15 years for her development but over 25 years now, Lagos is still grasping for breathe.

After how many years. Since 1999 down to 2023, count and reflect. 24 years and we are still singing if.
The corruption that is been perpetrated in that enclave will.only take decade of serious governance to undo them. Trillions have gone than the drain because of political patronage relegated in favour of mediocrity and praise singing.

what are the huge responsibilities that our LGAs carry in Lagos?

what do they do in LGs in Lagos that is different from what happens in LGs in other states?

Let me give you a load down history.
For Calabar:
"After the chiefs of Duke Town accepted British protection in 1884, the town, which was called Old Calabar until 1904, served as capital of the Oil Rivers Protectorate (1885–93), the Niger Coast Protectorate (1893–1900), and Southern Nigeria (1900–06) until the British administrative headquarters were moved to Lagos".

Calabar has never been capital of Nigeria but capital of the Southern Protectorate of Nigeria, Zungeru and Kaduna were capitals of the Northern Protectorate.

For Lagos:

Lagos became the capital of Nigeria since when the southern protectorate was joined with northern protectorate in 1914 and it became so till 1960 when Nigeria gained independence till it was relocated to Abuja in 1976.
For over 60 years Lagos was the capital of Nigeria put together.

Note for emphasis, Calabar has never been Nigeria capital but only southern protectorate capital.

Now, can you give the people other news, since some of you doesn't want to hear that Lagos was the capital of Nigeria and it was heavily invested in by both the whites and the blacks that have had opportunity of administering Nigeria.

If the money raised in Lagos is actually used proportionately to the development of the state, Lagos would being same league of Advanced metropolitan cities like Paris, New York, Rome etc

Nice.

Lagos LGAs should actually get more than this based on the huge responsibilities our LGAs carry in Lagos.

In most of the other states, LGAs hardly do anything and their workers hardly come to office! They just come at month end and share the allocations
Local government administration is the same everywhere my brother. Say what you know. Even the state civil serving are the same. They hardly go to work on regular routine as stipulated. Some go once in a week. Some two times in a month. Some don't even go than once in three months.

3. did you visit other LGs before you concluded that they dont do anything but share allocation?

Nothing to show for all this! Imagine when they get the full autonomy angry

First ask how much the governors gave them to pay salaries and do projects. Only Lagos gives the money to them without touching because Tinubu Thier grand father believes in grassroot. Other governors appoint caretaker and used the money.
I believed in LG autonomy for sustainable development
