During my undergraduate days, there was a bar in front of my lodge. We were inside the bar gisting, a guy walked in with a girl but the girl refused to order anything. When the guy asked why, she said she was hungry. Luckily there was an eatery across the road, the guy asked him to go and eat....

That incident elicited a lot of reactions...

I will simply explain to her that the reason we are going on a date is to get to know each other, and the little i was gonna spend on that date (aka drink/snack or chop something) is for her to be comfortable as we get to know one another and discuss life and see if i want to see her again (or not) etc.... if she solely came to that date because of hunger (with stomach making hungry noise) and she is only looking to get out of there with my money so that she can go feed her family, then whats the point of her coming to the date (apart from my money)?! she is missing the whole point about what "A DATE" is.

i would just say:"HELL THE FUKC NO!" then get up and walk away!

I’m going to spend much more than I initially planned.

I had a similar experience during COVID. I asked a friend to help me cook a particular soup that I didn’t know how to make. When she finished, I suggested we eat together, but she declined. Instead, she asked if she could take some soup home so she could buy fufu and feed her family because there was no food at home.

I gave her enough to cook a full meal for her family. I don’t joke around when it comes to my family, so when I see someone who cares deeply about theirs, it makes me happy.

But I couldn't give her just soup because I didn’t know how her father would feel if she returned home with soup from my place. It seemed better for her to cook something herself so everyone would think it came from her.

, One thing i have come to understand in relationship is there is no perfect guide. The truth is what works for you might not work for another person. Damn, this gal is real and she is real to the core. She knws that spending on a first date last for a day however, the dhr are other rainy das. if you call that ugly, i call it beautiful. I would gladly go and do the date in her house by buying the food stuff and we eat together. That is if she stays a lone. However, if she has a family and they cannot provide for their feeding, that is when i will see it as a red flag

Again, you see what you want to see. If u take someone like me, a foodie to the core who loves to cook, to a very pricy restaurant most of which sell mediocre food anyway, I can just take one look at the price list and say bro, just give me the 20k and give me 3hours. We will fuel up the gen, I'll cook up a powerful meal and we will have a great time on that same money.

Admittedly it's an awkward thing to do on a first date but I still I admire her frankness. If I was looking for a woman to wife as a man, I would look at her twice.

I dont like that style.
