Kane and Abel was a master class man.

Sydney Sheldon is my all time favorite but between those two you listed Kane and Abel was the best, but not as great as wind mills of the God and master of the game by Sydney Sheldon. Same bloodline too. I read those books over 5 times each.
Sidney Sheldon is a grandmaster story teller!!💪💪💯..Bloodline,Master of the game and If tomorrow comes will be my all time favourite of his.

I prayed to God to make me a magician to avoid need to think about money, positions in govt, and other necessities.
So I got up in search of books about magic to buy, when I saw a book seller, selling books on the floor,I stood in search of books about magic.
My search ended when is saw this book "The secret_The magic" by Rhonda Byrne.®️
A book written with a life time experience with people in respect for Thankfulness and Gratitude to God and respect for mankind.🖼️🎨🖌️
I took the book immediately and paid Three thousand one hundred naira 3️⃣1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣for the book, well I don't know why the hundred naira was added but I paid for it and took it.📙
I can never stop reading that book even when am happy or sad, at the back of the book i started writing numerological numbers in multiple sequences.🖋️🎲3️⃣6️⃣9️⃣🔟🗝️✔️
I just hope i would become a magician and help others financially with all gratitude to God.🌎💯

Could this be a book about a poor mallam that lost his betrothed to a rich man and then went in search of an herbalist to help render their only child useless?

It's been long I read that book, but a phrase I will never forget I read in the novel was when the betrothed told the poor Hallam that, a woman is like a cloth in the market; it's not the first person that price it that eventually gets to buy i

Damn! That phrase stuck to my mind, though I was in pry 4 then when I read the book.

Nope! The book you are referring to is “African Night Entertainment” by Cyprian Ekwensi….. I guess

Sometimes I wonder how I fell in love with reading novels. I presume it was out of sheer curiosity. Although I no longer read novels, I can't help but reminisce on the good ol' days.

I've read a lot of novels from authors such as Dante Alighieri, Leo Tolstoy, George R.R. Martin, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Stephen King, Dan Brown, Agatha Christie, J.K. Rowling, Mario Puzo, Robert Ludlum, J.R.R. Tolkien, Sidney Sheldon, George Orwell, Tom Clancy, James Patterson and our very own Chinua Achebe just to mention a few.

My personal favourite would be Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky.

What's yours?
I can't believe James Hardley Chase is not on your list

I remember the good old days, i read a lot of novels, and even read more if i had money to purchase them. But nowadays, children no longer read novels. I am yet to see a child that loves reading, they are now more engrossed in tiktok.
what do you expect from a generation of Pablo and pablets? They even find it difficult to read to pass their exams. They see reading as waste of time.Only God can help salvage the situation.

The Book Thief
The Elf Queen of Shannara by Terry Brooks
All Dean Koontz books
The curious incident of the dog in the night time

I read a romance novel this year: The Wife Project. Pretty interesting read. It's not your typical romance novel as it was written by a man and featured a main character with autism.

I've read way too many books that I can't just pick any favorites. These are just some that came off the top of my head.

In the case of Nigerian book, I'll say There Was a Country kind of left an impact on me

Not an avid reader period ... a novel has to be very interesting and captivating for me to read to the end. I've read quite a few ...Master of the Game by Sidney Sheldon ... Chromosome 6 by Robin Cook ...Bourne Identity by Robert Ludlum and Games of the Hangman by a guy named Riley or O'Reily. But above all ...hands down ... was Thin Air. ... suspense on steroids... once you begin reading is hell to stop. Novel based on the Philadelphia Experiment in the mid 1900's when the US military was trying to develop technology in which their navy ships can become invisible to the enemy. Einstein was part of the team. In trial .. the experimental ship did become invisible ... but got transported .. as in reappeared in a different location. That was beyond them and the project was shut down. The government denied there was such an experiment but the "truth finders" have even located the very boat that was used. The novel is based on this experiment... dealing with the aftermaths and if the project were successful.

Oh man, the mad rat-race in Nigeria doesn't allow anyone to read fiction novels again. The present reality breeds hard times.

Be that as it may, the novel that touched my heart most is Sydney Sheldon's novel:
A stone for Danny Fisher
Read it and hate poverty!

Thanks!

Sadly, it's been years since I've last read a novel. Most of the ones I read were when I was between 9 - 24 years. Can't seem to find the motivation to create the time any longer.

But the beautiful memories will never go away.
