If landing cost is around N1200 , and according to your claim, you are to sell at half the original cost which is equivalent to N600/L.
My question now is, why are most stations still dispensing abive N900/L?
This lays to bare that NNPC is not sincere in their dealings with the federal government.

Does it really make sense. You're buying higher and selling lower, so who is covering the losses

So do you prefer to buy at higher rate?

NNPCL is technically right. It's a form of protectionism that bars other players from profiting from the high pms prices globally in favor of the national oil company since the Russia-Ukraine War started. It is more of monopoly than subsidy regime because govt keeps paying full amount and no other company is given same incentive the FG is giving the NNPCL yet, unlike the era of subsidy regime, FG now doesn't forbid other companies from going overseas to import pms and sell at their own price more than the price FG wants NNPCL to sell the pms sourced from NNPCL.

Walahi you smoked lemon grass before writing this rubbish. So paying for shortfall to keep price under control is not subsidy abi? Make una fear God ooooo

See the people that love Nigeria. For your mind , you think say you get sense.

Protectionism , monopoly bla bla bla

The NNPC uses its last year dividends which would have been payable to the FG to subsidize half of the landing cost of the product

But you open your mouth to defend them by saying yes theyโ€™re right itโ€™s not subsidy .

This is just a play on semantics.

The bottom line is that the product is being directly subsidised so that the masses don't bear the full cost implications of your incompetence.

So why have you been lying to Nigerians all along about not subsidising pms?

As a result of his incompetence & greed, Bat is absorbing a subsidy 100 times over what he condemned.

@full cost implications of tinubu's incompetence.

Baba should come and address NIGERIANS that "subsidy Is back" let's see the effect it has on the economy. The reckless "subsidy is gone" statement really had negative effect on our economy, that was the genesis of the myriads of economic and socioeconomic problems we've been facing.
Re: It Is Not Subsidy: NNPC Explains Why It Sells Fuel Lower Than Landing Cost by Greatex90: 7:36am On Aug 21, 2024
It says that the subsidy is now between the FG and NNPCL.
In the past, FG pays Local marketers Association monies to reduce the fuel price, but now, the deal is between NNPCL and FG.

In other words, the only subsidise fuel price is those at NNPC fueling station.

They said for the past 8 years, they have not been paying any subsidy.
So what happens to all the budgetary allocations under Buhari?
Most times people tell lies on top of lies thinking that they are smart and others are fools.
Tinubu should continue to fool himself not Nigerians.
Re: It Is Not Subsidy: NNPC Explains Why It Sells Fuel Lower Than Landing Cost by regenerateman(m): 7:40am On Aug 21, 2024
Una go explain taya. What is subsidy? Subsidy in a layman means selling a product or service below market value. For example, government buys petrol at N1,200 and sells at N700 to the members of the public. The difference of N500 is what us now as subsidy. Whether you like it or not, you are paying subsidy. The FG has shot herself in the foot.
Re: It Is Not Subsidy: NNPC Explains Why It Sells Fuel Lower Than Landing Cost by dacool1(m): 7:44am On Aug 21, 2024
This is pure evil. So we suffered for nothing. Absolutely nothing, can anyone explain the benefits of this to the masses.

I mean why remove and reintroduce using a different name and even pay as much as twice what you claimed you removed.

So subsidy has been stolen from marketers by the people in government.

NIGERIA IS A CRIME SCENE

Decision has consequences Tinubu Decision without proper planning on that swearing day brought us to this mess today

You don't have any understanding of the topic. Removing the subsidy paid to marketers has little bearing on why fuel is so expensive if the fuel is still being subsidized at source as we've been told. The issue is really that landing costs have gone up tremendously and that is a function of dollar costs. You may still say it is down to his policies but at least have some basic understanding.

Very soon, NNPCL will have other shareholders, all these is just a smoke screen. Why privatize key government institutions.

Forget all those nonsense they tell you about public corporations, government itself is a business. People who can't manage businesses effectively have no business in government.
