USA court have gone mad.
With all the NigerDeta pollution against Chevron n She'll the foolish court did not award a dime to Nigeria in damages even when the evidence is glaring till 2040 when anyone not yet born can step into Niger Delta and verify this claim.

The will claim it is outside their jurisdiction but a case against the government of Ghana that took place in Ghana is not outside their jurisdiction and they can foolishly be awarding any amount their foolish souls desire for Africans to pay. The judge USA are simply mad

for your information oil companies pay both state and federal government for the oil mess. Don't forget the useless militants are the ones blowing the pipelines not oil companies. Ask yourself why is government trying to make sure oil companies get their oil daily and government blame anything just to keep the people busy, while the continue embezzling the funds meant for clean up

Black Africa refused to be powerful so that's why the white men are still treating us as their slaves,we never see anything, until we cut every single tie with the other worlds and begin to develop ourselves by ourselves,we will always be slaves to the whites and other races

What? How do countries, especially African countries get judged by courts in UK, France and co, i don't understand. Can our courts here also do the same?
Nope. We can't.
Most of these arbitration judgements are based on agreements signed by leaders of our countries to waive their sovereign immunity and enter into arbitration in a third party country if conflicts occur.
So it's not forced on us but of our own making

Tales by moonlight, are militant also the one causing oil spill in the USA or what part of the universe have you ever seen oil drill without spill. Out of hate you chose to spite your own country but to what gain.

Hate bigotry tribalism n foolishness now reign supreme on Nairaland.

This is an entirely different matter

It is not in principle. It borders on double standards and hypocrisy. I guess arbitration judgements are now the new scam perpetuated by the west against African nations.

The court further observed that Ghana had agreed, in the power purchase agreement, to submit to international arbitration and had specifically relinquished its sovereign immunity, a report by adomonline.com said.

Why would any African State agree to submit to international arbitration that are often skewed against them and most importantly relinquished its sovereign immunity?

This is beyond ridiculous!

Oyinbos will always have an agenda against black people or communities and only care about their own benefits.

As a black person or nation, it’s foolish to think oyibo have your best interest at heart. From platonic, romantic to business relationship oyinbo man only cares about himself and how to scam or take advantage of black people.
But for some weird reason, the average black person trust oyibos with all their heart and might, smh!

100% Truth! It’s like some black people are under some type of spell. As soon as they see oyibos they suddenly become cripple-minded; loose guard, and put their trust in oyibos.

There is no countries that can live in an isolation. There's nothing wrong in collecting loans from Western countries. The problem here is that when Africa countries take these loans they don't use the loans judiciously. A major part of the loan is embezzled through contract inflation. Most companies in China are owned by the Western countries. China sold a substantial parts of her goods to other countries. Our crude oil is bought by other countries. This apples to other countries too.

The bottom line is most African countries have borrowed the future generation without significant and tangible projects and infrastructure to justify the borrowings

This trend will definitely continue until Africans unite in one accord, have love and respect for themselves.

You are talking about USA court fining shell or any other foreign oil companies for the damages done in the niger Delta, and I ask you do you think the Yorubas or Hausas won't block such Favour?
