I felt same way eating afang in AKS and CRS. For a second I wondered if this is the afang. Even worse that the ones in AKS cooked it with goat meat. I once gave a Yoruba colleague oha and he said it tasted nothing like what he ate in the SE. The only popular Nigerian meal that I have eaten randomly in 4 SW states and it scored well is abula. I went to Enugu that is home of okpa and it was all hype. Ph and bole, same story. They had to take me to a specific place both times.

I don't rely on this method anymore even in its dominant environment. grin

Which part of Enugu did you eat the okpa?

That Enugu town prepares okpa doesn’t mean it’s their forte — Enugu town isn’t the home of OKPA, NSUKKA is.

Where is the insecurity? I guarantee you this,Kaduna is safer than most States in the South.

Chief liar

Popoola, a registrar in the Department of Ophthalmology at the National Eye Centre, Kaduna State, was abducted on December 27, 2023, along with her husband, Nurudeen Popool, who is a Squadron leader, and her nephew, Folaranmi Abdul-Mugniy, who stays with them.

One of the pathetic stories coming out of KD, what of the killings in kd south

Mention one State in the South where Kidnapping does not take place on daily basis? I am not talking of Robbery, Rituals, Cult killings etc. Remember, the only insecurity in Kaduna is banditry.

However, in the South there is banditry, Cult killings, rituals, Robbery, Agberoism, organ harvesting and many more

does that mean all this kidnapping and killings stories we hear happen in kaduna villages?

It happens but not as much as the media make us believe. Besides, it's not every where this Kidnapping happens. It is usually within one location

Olodos. Don't you know all food in Nigeria is sourced from the North because southerners are too lazy to work in farms? Without the north you lazy southerners would starve to death tongue

You are very correct. Kaduna, Niger are all experiencing peace. As insecurity in those areas has reduced.

In all honesty Benin has no reason to be expensive considering the fact that it's not really producing much compared to the other states you mentioned.

Not really... about 99% of restaurants in southern part of Nigeria serve foods with ceramic plates. We're not in 1945.

But the Ceramics won't change the taste of the food

I ate akara in Abuja and hated it. I made it from the scratch at home throughout my stay there. I also tried banga soup there too and didn't like it. It felt like I was eating palm oil instead.

The really good restaurants for soup are very expensive.
The hack to it is knowing the chef's background. If she is not an indigene who was born and bred there before leaving, how long did she live in the dominant state? The woman at the NYSC camp was from Ugep, Cross River, so I thought she should know a thing or two about Afang soup because of the Efik sub-group in Calabar. fa fa fa, faaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Maybe she lied sef. Next time, I will speak the language.

My first Amala experience was at Amala Sky in Ibadan. Anywhere else has to be a place owned by Yorubas.

Even if will be costly the difference may just be N300 I served and also resided in the North for a while Northerners have Compassion only Religion and insecurity brouhaha that is their menace Beverages like Milk,Milo,Bournvita that are even manufactured in the South(Lagos, Ibadan,Ogun) are even Cheaper in the North than the South,Bread nko is the Wheat flour and some of it's ingredients not imported via Lagos Atlantic Ocean?? Yet it is Stl cheaper in the North. The Government isn't only our problem in Nigeria our Greed, Dubiousness, our tendecity to obtain other that we terma as being Smart Is also a menace plauging us in this Country
Apart from fraud or theft, what you explained there is basic economics, aka capitalism. It is the reason southern Nigeria is wealthier and more developed than northern Nigeria. Fine, not everyone loves capitalism or can be a capitalist, but if you value prosperity, you will see why it has to be practised.
