I was actually brought to this forum because of the new friends I am making in my new business, many of them from your country!
It is an Australian business, launched a year or so ago, and the number 1 earners are all from Africa!  Nigeria, Ghana etc are
leading the way in our business, even moreso than us Australians! 
So, in answer to your question, it is most definitely possible!

I would love to hear more of your own experiences too
