In all fairness to the system, I think they are often abandoned in prison without trials. Nobody frees them if that's what you think. They will be languishing in prisons.

I don't think I have ever come across any news regarding the conviction and actual sentencing of this bandits and their various aides.

It's always about the arrest and after that nobody hears anything again so why won't there be so many folks joining the team when they know there is really no stiff penalty when they get caught.
