Putin is too soft

1. Ukraine has every right to use "Ukraine's weapons" to target Russia, not other people's weapons to target Russia. (I live in one of those western countries and I'm not willing to die for the 3rd hand piano player, no thanks)
2. The west targeting Russia under the guise of "access to weapons that can penetrate Russian mainland" will only lead to a nuclear war because you can't fool Russia with play on words.
3. Ukraine should fight with it's means and when it doesn't have means anymore, it should give up because it has lost and is only prolonging its sorrow. Generals who moonlight as beggars don't generally perform well in warfare.

issue is, the repercussion would be too high. As in, it would be too much even the USA could get affected.

Mind you, Russia is so wide and large they could hit USA directly if they want.

of course they would have to think more than twice since USA is equally a Nuclear country + also a NATO member but then, they both understands themselves better.

The WEST especially USA wants to give Ukraine such permission but are weary of the repercussion. There's a reason they are going through Ukraine, rather than directly.

Russia is inflicting maximum damage by handling things with kids gloves but there's a limit to how gentle Russia would handle things should certain things occur.

As France when they started misBeHaving. See eh, the WEST especially USA have lost more than Ukraine. As in the WEST might have lost few personnel who went into Ukraine disguised but when you talk of Authority, Equipment, Money, important allies e.g Saudi-Arabia, etc.

In fact, many countries who FEARs USA before the start of this Ukraine conflict have reduced.
As for sanctions, that fear has equally reduced. In fact a lot of countries now sees Sanctions as means to improve. Couple that with the fact Russia has invented a replacement to a lot of things WESTern countries banned them from using means they could rally behind Russia and China.
That's another reason why the WEST really tried everything to limit closeness between Russia and China. Russia has almost everything. China has a lot. Both coming together would be disastrous.

North korea sef don dey invent drones. iRan don dey build nuclear weapons and are even relying on Russia for a lot of things. Same as india.

Dollar and Euro has lost a lot of it's power and relevance.

See eh, had Russia handled things so quickly, the WEST wouldn't have lost up to 1% of what it's currently lost.

1 country fighting against over 50-countries. Even if Russia looses in the end, I still would respect them because it ain't easy lasting this long. Funny enough, their economy dey improve, while others own dey drop.

I agree OP ought to have included a legitimate source but either way, this happened on 26th of August 2024. OP just rephrased the titled to make it sound sweeter but the story is actually true and much worse than was painted.
Even Ukraine said it's the worst that have happened since start of the conflict.
