Relationship Vs. Religion by elizegan: 10:38am On Aug 26
The relationship between religion and relationships can be difficult to navigate, as each can bring different values and expectations to the table.

For me, religion provides security and comfort, while relationships bring joy, excitement, and a sense of connection.

But when the two come into conflict, it can be difficult to reconcile one’s beliefs with their relationship.

I guess my question is how can we reconcile loyalty to our faith with our commitment to our partners?

How do we respect both our religion and our relationships? (For example if your partner wants action while you're fasting and the likes)

If you're a Christian the Bible admonished you to marry only in the same faith. 1 Corinthians 7:39

WHY?

Because that's what will make it easy for both of you to continue your journey to everlasting life.

The word Jesus used:

"What God has YOKED together"

Has a deeper meaning than just choosing what you want in marriage rather it's indept meaning can be fully understood when you think of how animals were YOKED together in Jesus' day.
Two animals are YOKED together to work in a farm so you shouldn't yoke a ram with a donkey because they're not of the same strength.
So to find a suitable spouse for your spiritual journey in life you must marry someone whose of the same line of thought, lifestyle, hobby and many more in that way both of you can decide when and how things should be done! 1 Corinthians 7:5

Jesus said come to me and put my yoke on {Matthew 11:28-30} what Jesus is saying in this effect is you being in one side while Jesus is on the other side and both of you are YOKED together to WORK for the Good News assigned to all worshipers of God in this time of the end, as a perfect partner Jesus will work at the same pace as you can bear but when talking about imperfect humans you must search for someone whose thinking and lifestyle is closest to yours before saying:

"I DO"

God bless you and may you have PEACE! smiley
