I realize that I was pretty unclear. I wouldn't abolish the monarchy, French Revolution style or like the Russians did.

What I would do is to scrap the state financial support for monarchs. If the people of town X want to sponsor their king with their personal funds, or the government of town X (in a hypothetical Nigeria where LGAs are not the smallest form of government), then I have no problem with that.

Btw, have you seen Fela? Or do you plan on seeing it? I'll be attending fairly soon. I've heard great things about it.

No, I haven't seen it. I don't know a lot about him other than what I read in books and the media. I wouldn't mind seeing it though, if it comes to the Bay Area.

Hah it has been here for about a month or so, but is leaving today. You *may* be able to catch a showing tonight, but it might be sold out.
